AIApply vs SoundCV: which should you choose?
Both tools fill job applications for you and write cover letters. They differ in interview tools, how refunds work, and how much of each application you see before it is sent.
AIApply is a broad job search suite with a strong set of interview tools. SoundCV is narrower on interviews but gives you tighter control of each application: you approve every one, and credits come back when an application cannot be sent.
Choose AIApply if…
- You want live prompts during video interviews from Interview Buddy.
- You want mock interview practice in the same account as your resume.
- You need a resume translated into another language.
- You are comfortable buying Auto Apply as a separate, non-refundable plan.
Choose SoundCV if…
- You want to read and approve every application before it is sent.
- You want your credits back automatically when an application fails.
- You want consent and privacy boxes left for you to tick yourself.
- You want sent applications tracked, with interview emails moving each job forward.
What is AIApply and how does it work?
AIApply is a job search suite that combines an auto apply agent with document and interview tools, billed as a subscription.
AIApply lists nine tools on its homepage: Auto Apply, an AI resume builder, a cover letter generator, Interview Buddy, mock interview practice, a resume scanner, a resume translator, a job board, and a LinkedIn-to-resume converter. AIApply says more than 2 million people have used it.
The Auto Apply agent works from your preferences. You upload a resume or LinkedIn profile, set the roles, locations and salary you want, and AIApply finds matching listings. It then tailors your documents and submits applications, and you follow progress in a dashboard. AIApply says you can review drafts before they are sent.
Auto Apply runs on credits, where one credit covers one job application. AIApply does not name the job boards or application systems it applies on, so you cannot tell in advance where each application will land.
Is AIApply legit, and is it safe?
AIApply is a real product with published pricing, terms of service and a help center. The questions worth asking are about control and refunds.
User reviews on Trustpilot are largely positive about time saved and about tailored resumes and cover letters. The critical reviews mention billing: unexpected charges, trial terms, and refunds that were hard to get. Some reviews also mention credits running out fast and job matches that felt too broad.
AIApply’s own terms explain most of those complaints. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Refunds are limited to verified technical problems, or an accidental purchase reported within 30 minutes. Auto-Apply is non-refundable once applications have been submitted.
None of that makes AIApply unsafe. It does mean you should set a reminder before each renewal date and keep your role filters tight, so credits go on jobs you actually want.
Published terms
Pricing, billing and refund rules are public on AIApply’s site and help center.
Auto-renewal
Cancel at least 24 hours before your period ends to avoid the next charge.
Limited refunds
Technical faults or a 30-minute accidental-purchase window. Auto-Apply is non-refundable after sending.
Match quality
Some reviews mention broad matches, so narrow your target roles and locations.

How much does AIApply cost in 2026?
AIApply pricing comes in three separate parts: the Premium toolkit, Interview Buddy, and Auto Apply. You pay for each one you use.
AIApply’s help center lists Premium at USD 29 a month or USD 144 a year. Premium covers the resume builder, cover letter generator, application kit and mock interview tool. Interview Buddy is a separate subscription at USD 19 a month or USD 99 a year.
Auto Apply is sold on top, in plans sized by application volume: 100, 250, 600, 750, 1,000 or 2,000 applications. Tailored resumes and cover letters for each application are a further add-on. The help article does not publish Auto Apply prices, so check the checkout page before you commit.
SoundCV prices Auto Apply per application instead. Setup and matching are free, and each submitted application uses 5 credits. When an application could not be sent, the credits go back to your balance automatically.

Why SoundCV is a practical AIApply alternative
SoundCV Auto Apply is built around one rule: nothing is sent until you have seen it. These are the parts that work differently.
You approve every application
SoundCV reads each employer’s real application form and fills it from your resume and setup. Every application then waits in Ready to review until you press Submit.
Credits back when it is not sent
Each submitted application uses 5 credits. If the job closed or the form needed a step only you can do, such as an email code, the credits return to your balance on their own.
Answer a question once
When a form asks something new, like “Are you willing to relocate?”, you answer it in the review panel. SoundCV remembers it and fills it on every later form, including applications already waiting.
Consent stays yours
Privacy and terms checkboxes are never ticked for you, and optional diversity questions are answered “decline to self-identify”. SoundCV never logs in to job boards with your password.
The rest of your search, in one account
Auto Apply is one part of SoundCV. These tools cover the steps before and after you apply.
Resume score checker
Check your resume score before you apply. You get an ATS score and a list of fixes, such as missing keywords or a header the parser cannot read.
AI resume builder
Build or rewrite your resume in a template that parses cleanly. Keep one version per type of role you target.
Cover letter per job
Auto Apply writes an AI cover letter from your resume and the job description when a form asks for one. You can edit it before sending.
Job application tracker
Sent applications appear on a board as Applied. Forward your job emails and interview invites move each job to Interviewing.
Up to 20 matches at a time
Job matching in Find new matches ranks open roles on your target titles, skills and location, then fills each application for review.
Questions marked for you
Anything only you can answer, like why you want the role, is flagged so you never send a guessed answer.
Is AIApply worth it for your job search?
The best AI job application tool is the one that matches how you apply. Check these five points against AIApply, SoundCV, or any other AI job applier.
Can you see each application before it goes out?
An application represents you to an employer. Look for a tool that shows every answer, the resume and the cover letter, and lets you edit them. Ask whether any applications are sent without your review, and under what conditions.
What happens to your money when an application fails?
Forms change, jobs close, and some employers add verification steps. Find out whether a failed application still costs you. AIApply’s terms say Auto-Apply is non-refundable once submitted, while SoundCV returns credits for applications it could not send.
What is the full monthly cost?
Add up every part you will use. With AIApply that can mean Premium, Interview Buddy, an Auto Apply plan and a tailoring add-on. Compare that total, not the headline price, with a per-application model.
Where are the applications sent?
Knowing which job boards or application systems a tool supports tells you which jobs it can reach. SoundCV applies on jobs posted through Greenhouse and marks them with an Auto Apply badge in job search.
Do you need interview help more than application help?
If your applications already get replies but interviews stall, AIApply’s mock interviews and Interview Buddy may matter more to you than application volume. If you are not getting replies, fix your resume first.
Whichever tool you pick, it sends the resume you give it. Check your resume score free first, and fix anything marked red before your first automated application.
Check my resumeWho should pick AIApply, and who should pick SoundCV?
Your situation decides it more than the feature list does. Here is how four common job seekers might choose.
Nervous about interviews
AIApply fits here. Mock interviews and live prompts from Interview Buddy target the stage where you feel least sure.
Employed and short on time
SoundCV fits here. Review a batch of filled applications in the evening and approve only the ones you want.
Graduates applying widely
Either works. SoundCV refunds credits for failed sends, which helps when every application counts toward a tight budget.
Careful about what is sent
SoundCV fits here. Consent boxes stay unticked, and questions only you can answer are flagged for you.
How to switch from AIApply to SoundCV
Moving takes about ten minutes. Keep your AIApply account until the current period ends, then cancel before renewal.
Bring your resume
Save a copy of your resume from AIApply, then upload it to SoundCV or rebuild it in the AI resume builder.
Check your score
Run the resume score checker and fix anything marked red before you send a single application.
Set up Auto Apply
Confirm details read from your resume and add work authorization, salary, notice period and target roles.
Review and submit
Press Find new matches, check each filled application, and submit the ones you want.
For jobs outside Auto Apply, use the cover letter builder for a letter written to that role, and add the job to your tracker by hand. Your whole search then sits in one place, whether a job was sent by Auto Apply or by you.
AIApply review: common questions
Is AIApply legit?+
Yes, AIApply is a real, working product. It sells a resume builder, cover letter generator, mock interviews, a live interview assistant called Interview Buddy, and an Auto Apply service. It publishes terms of service and a help center. User reviews are mixed on billing and refunds, so read the refund terms before you buy.
How much does AIApply cost?+
As of September 2026, AIApply’s help center lists Premium at USD 29 a month or USD 144 a year, and Interview Buddy at USD 19 a month or USD 99 a year. Auto Apply is sold separately in plans sized by application volume, from 100 to 2,000 applications. The help article does not list Auto Apply prices.
Does AIApply auto apply for you?+
Yes. You set your target roles, locations and salary, and AIApply finds matching listings, tailors your documents and submits applications. Its site says you can review drafts before they are sent and track progress in a dashboard. Each credit covers one job application, and AIApply does not name which job sites it applies on.
Is AIApply worth it?+
It depends on what you need. AIApply is worth a look if you want interview tools, including live help during video interviews, in the same account as your resume. If you mainly want applications sent with your approval and a refund when one fails, compare the refund terms and total monthly cost against other tools first.
What is the AIApply refund policy?+
AIApply’s terms say fees are generally non-refundable. Refunds may be granted for a verified technical issue, or for an accidental purchase reported within 30 minutes with no meaningful use. Auto-Apply is listed as non-refundable once applications have been submitted. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
What is AIApply Interview Buddy?+
Interview Buddy is AIApply’s real-time interview assistant. It listens to interview questions and shows you prompts and answer suggestions based on your resume and the job description. AIApply says it works with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and browser-based platforms. It is priced separately from the Premium plan.
Is AIApply safe to use?+
AIApply is a legitimate company with published terms. The main risk is sending applications you have not checked. Set narrow role and location filters, review drafts before they go out, and watch your renewal date, because subscriptions renew automatically. Keep in mind that Auto-Apply purchases are non-refundable once applications are submitted.
What is the best AIApply alternative?+
The best alternative depends on the gap you want to close. If you want every application reviewed and approved before it is sent, with the credit returned when it cannot be sent, SoundCV Auto Apply fits. If you want the largest number of applications with little review, a volume tool may suit you better.
AIApply vs LazyApply: what is the difference?+
AIApply bundles auto apply with resume, cover letter and interview tools, billed monthly or yearly. LazyApply focuses on sending applications in volume and, as of September 2026, sells yearly plans from USD 99 with daily caps of 15 to 1,500 applications on Greenhouse, Dice, Indeed and ZipRecruiter.
How do I switch from AIApply to SoundCV?+
Save a copy of your resume from AIApply, then upload it to SoundCV or rebuild it in the resume builder. Set up Auto Apply once with your work authorization, salary and notice period. Before your next AIApply renewal date, cancel the subscription so you are not charged for another period.
