About this role
Are you a hands-on Data Engineer passionate about building scalable data platforms and engineering solutions? Our client in the banking sector is looking for experienced Senior Data Engineers to join a growing technical environment, developing and enhancing modern cloud-based data platforms. This is a hands-on engineering opportunity where you will be actively involved in writing code, building data pipelines, developing complex ETL/ELT processes and delivering scalable data solutions that support critical business and banking operations. What you'll be doing
Design, develop and optimise scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms.
Build complex ETL/ELT processes using advanced Python and SQL.
Develop, implement and maintain data engineering solutions on AWS.
Build and manage data integration, ingestion and processing frameworks.
Work with large datasets and distributed data processing technologies.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation and deployment processes.
Implement data quality, monitoring and performance optimisation practices.
Collaborate with architects, developers and other technical stakeholders to deliver robust data solutions.
What we're looking for
Proven experience in a hands-on Data Engineering role.
Strong practical Python development skills – actively writing and maintaining production code.
Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries and data transformations.
Practical experience building and managing data pipelines.
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud data technologies.
Experience with ETL/ELT processes and modern data platforms.
Understanding of CI/CD, automation and software development lifecycle practices.
Experience working with large-scale data environments and distributed processing.
Advantageous experience
Exposure to Apache Kafka.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience within banking or financial services environments.
Exposure to Salesforce Data Cloud (particularly for senior-level candidates).
