The Bilingual Director, Advisor and Client Experience leads and coaches our Wealth Advisors and Relationship Managers to implement and deliver our holistic wealth management strategy in Quebec and Eastern Canada. The incumbent collaborates with our Fidelity business partners in the legal, compliance, marketing, operations, human resources, and Fidelity Clearing Canada teams to provide exceptional client service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the transition for retiring advisors and ensuring the successful transfer of clients to our Wealth Advisors. They will also collaborate with the Learning and Development team to provide training, as well as develop and implement practice management ideas to better serve our clients. The Director, Advisor and Client Experience will play a key role in developing and achieving goals set for advisors, ensuring the profitable delivery of excellent client service and high-quality wealth management solutions to our clients, while recruiting experienced advisors.

Your contribution

– Leadership and coaching

  • Provide direction, support, and feedback to Relationship Managers and Wealth Advisors to resolve complex client issues.

  • Establish and facilitate the sharing of best practices to improve operational efficiency and the client experience.

  • Ensure the successful transition of clients from retiring advisors to our Relationship Managers and Wealth Advisors, in partnership with our operations and transition team.

– Define key performance indicators for advisor teams and establish a strategy to deliver an exceptional client experience

  • Develop service level guidelines to help advisors provide an exceptional client experience.

  • Implement and promote a client-focused culture by collaborating with advisors to deepen client relationships and leveraging other Fidelity Wealth partners to help clients achieve their goals.

  • Build a network of external centers of influence that our advisors can leverage to meet our clients' needs.

– Establish Fidelity’s presence in the wealth management sector

  • Identify opportunities to develop and execute strategies that will maximize market penetration and increase client loyalty.

  • Find opportunities for Fidelity to speak at professional events and participate in industry conferences or events.

– Lead the risk mitigation strategy

  • Maintain a high level of practical knowledge of regulatory and legislative requirements across the country.

  • Collaborate with the Compliance department regarding regulatory policies and procedures and with the Legal department to implement regulatory changes.

– Recruitment and development

  • Manage the recruitment and development of Wealth Advisors and Relationship Managers in Quebec and Eastern Canada as our pool of transitioning advisors grows.

  • Collaborate with our VP, Business Development during the recruitment cycle to demonstrate Fidelity’s value to advisors nearing retirement and their clients.

  • Collaborate with the wealth management team and the entire Fidelity ecosystem to design an exceptional showcase for advisors nearing retirement.

Required qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, including leading advisors or client-facing teams in wealth management.

  • It is essential to have completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), the Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) course, the Wealth Management Essentials (WME) course, and the Branch Managers Course.

  • Bilingual in English and French.

  • Proven experience in managing registered advisors.

  • Post-graduate experience, securities training (e.g., CIM or CFA designation), and the Partners, Directors and Senior Officers (PDO) course are assets.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Ability to translate the organization's overall business strategy into a clear vision and direction.

For this position, your total compensation includes the following elements:

  • Base salary and discretionary performance bonus: Total annual cash compensation (base salary plus target bonus) ranges from $163,000 to $195,000, depending on your experience and skills.
  • RRSP contributions: After six months of employment, we invest in your future by contributing to a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), with no requirement for you to contribute.
