Overall Purpose of the Job:
- Be responsible for the administration of activities for the assigned area; supervise and co-ordinate the work of the team, acting as a point of reference.
- Provide information, advice and guidance to stakeholders.
- Work flexibly as required across the University, supporting delivery of University and local priorities as a single cross-University team.
- Maintain own data management, the student record and data quality for all related areas of delivery.
- Maintain and update system records with reference to current data protection legislation and provide reports.
- Assist with the planning, organisation and delivery of events; organise and service meetings.
- Act in accordance with and promote University policies and requirements at all times.
- Deliver excellent customer service and play an active role in communities of practice.
- Assist with the delivery and monitoring of projects and activities.
- Be part of the collaborative student finance team taking ownership of student finance enquiries within specified service level agreements.
- Process Hardship Fund applications and other University funding applications in a timely manner and in line with guidance and allocated budget.
- Undertake administrative and financial processes for schemes requiring evaluation by a panel of staff; undertake administration of loans in respect of US students, having detailed knowledge of regulations governing the US Loan Program and private US loans.
- Have knowledge of the administration of Veteran's Affairs (VA) benefits in respect of US military veterans and/or their children.
- Generate requests for refund, investigate and resolve as appropriate; communicate with current and prospective students regarding their loans; prepare and submit online bi-monthly enrolment reports to National Student Loan Database System (NSLDS).
Please note, under the new immigration rules this role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route of the Points Based System. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK in order to be eligible to take up the post.
