Location - Atlantic Quay / Saughton House

**Sponsorship:**Skilled Worker sponsorship is not available for this role. As a result, we are unable to appoint candidates who require Skilled Worker sponsorship now or in the future. Applicants must have an existing and ongoing right to work in the UK.

Job description

This role is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of the Scottish Government Diversity and Inclusion Employer Strategy by providing end to end support across the governance framework.

Acting as a critical link between staff diversity networks, operational teams and corporate governance you will be the contact point for internal stakeholders on day-to- day delivery of the strategy.

As a member of the Diversity and Inclusion team, you will champion inclusion in the workplace and have opportunities to work collaboratively in delivering a wide range of strategy action plan priorities to improve experience and outcomes for equality groups in our workplace.


  • provide complete, end to end secretariat services for the Diversity and Inclusion Governance Group and its associated staff diversity network engagement spaces

  • coordinate and compile governance packs, commissioning and reviewing submitted papers to ensure they meet quality and formatting standards

  • produce accurate, concise minutes from complex discussions ensuring all decision and actions are documented and tracked

  • maintain and manage updates to action trackers and dashboards and assist in their audits

  • manage and coordinate statutory reporting, membership of employer schemes and external representation in our governance framework

  • act as the first point of contact for queries relating to the day to day delivery of the diversity and inclusion strategy and ensure timely provision of advice, briefing and responses including Freedom of Information requests

  • co-produce, implement and support delivery of diversity and inclusion action plan priority projects

Experience

  • Delivering in a challenging stakeholder environment

  • Reporting to a governance body, board or group

  • Experience of how data and analytics can be used and communicated to support change that brings about improvements in people experience or outcomes.

  • Experience of developing or adapting approaches to identify and address risks and opportunities, creating plans to respond to those and working with out supervision to see activity to through to completion.

  • General knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion employer duties and , the Scottish Government employer approach to diversity and inclusion and factors impacting on inclusion in the workplace.

Working pattern

This role is a temporary position with an expected commitment of six months.

This post is a full-time role, but we welcome applications from staff with different working patterns, proposed working patterns will be assessed against the business requirements for this post.

Our standard hours are 35 hours per week and we offer a range of flexible working options depending on the needs of the role, including Flexi-leave. Scottish Government staff in hybrid-compatible roles should aim to work in-person 40% of the time, either in an office or other agreed work location.
