** Team Leader Water Mechanical **
Council is seeking to appoint a permanent full time Team Leader Water Mechanical to contribute to Council’s success.
- Opportunity to broaden experience by working across diverse assets and locations.
- Lead a dynamic trades team while supporting the development of local apprentices and building community skills.
- Commuter use vehicle provided.
About the Role
This position is a key leadership role and is responsible for supervising the delivery and completion of mechanical works across Council including preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance, and unplanned restoration works of Council’s assets throughout the Gladstone region.
You will bring:
- Relevant mechanical trade qualification and/or substantial demonstrated industry knowledge, skills and relevant experience.
- Proven leadership success and supervisory experience overseeing work crews and supporting a high- performance culture and cohesive team environment.
- Knowledge of and experience applying the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulation 2011.
- Ability to be appointed as the backup Site Safety Manager under the Petroleum and Gas Act 2004.
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills to effectively liaise with internal and external customers.
- Well-developed prioritisation and organisation skills to simultaneously work towards and achieve multiple deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Availability to work outside normal hours and travel as required.
- Proficient keyboard skills and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and operating corporate business systems.
- Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.

This position requires immunisation against Hepatitis A/B and Tetanus.
