How You’ll Make an Impact

Reporting to the Digital Media Team leadership, the Corporate Affairs Producer Bilingual will participate in the development and production of Fidelity Canada’s daily live webcasts, as well as podcasts and videos. This role will have a particular focus on developing our French-language content.

The successful candidate will play a leading role in Fidelity’s digital media production environment, working both independently and in leadership functions within the team, with the goal of driving audience engagement through our quality content.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a business television newsroom or a related field, as well as a good understanding of financial markets.

They will be tasked with designing new content opportunities for advisors and investors in Quebec, drawing on internal market research, cross-departmental collaboration, and economic, financial, and geopolitical news. They will lead these projects from ideation to completion, ensuring scriptwriting, directing, and overseeing post-production editing.

In addition to production , the incumbent must possess intermediate knowledge of studio equipment and operations, video editing, and current methods for content distribution and promotion. The role also includes a support function for the entire Digital Media Team on various aspects of video production and digital events, as needed.

**Key **

  • Webcast and video production – pre-production: As a segment or research producer, the incumbent will be responsible for developing concepts, booking guests, and promoting (writing promotional copy) French-language webcasts and videos. This person will pay special attention to pre-production planning and content development, conducting prep calls and preparing scripts, while adhering to best practices developed by the Fidelity Canada Digital Media team.
  • Webcast and video production – show day: Plan and execute quality webcasts in collaboration with the entire Digital Media Team, overseeing team , writing host scripts, directing remote guests, and managing participants.
  • Long-term content strategy and development: Develop and implement plans to increase the French-language content offering, focusing on emerging client segments, topics of interest, and external guests. Expansion plans must align with organizational goals and audience demand.
  • Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Digital Media team, hosts, and guests. Guests may include Fidelity Canada staff (portfolio managers, specialists, and thought leaders), as well as external guests. Content ideas will often stem from cross-departmental exchanges with the sales, product, marketing, and investment management teams.

Your Expertise

  • Knowledge of global financial markets

  • Knowledge of video, webcast, and podcast production, particularly regarding content development, scriptwriting, talent management, and directing

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Experience presenting on camera (an asset)

  • Intermediate knowledge of digital camera systems and studio equipment, video capture, advanced shot configuration, lighting, audio capture, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of webcast and video conferencing platforms, such as Zoom, including video and audio signal flows between a studio environment, a home workstation, and a conference room.

  • Understanding of digital technologies and emerging industry trends

  • Strong essential project management and organizational skills

  • Ability to contribute to a collaborative and stimulating work environment

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • At least three years of experience in economic or financial news content production, preferably in a live television environment
  • Understanding of financial markets
  • Solid experience in writing scripts, interview guides, and content
  • Bilingualism (French/English)
  • Previous professional experience as a freelancer or full-time staff member in a financial news context
  • Experience in the financial products field (an asset)
  • Experience in communications, particularly in public affairs, journalism, marketing, or a related field (an asset)
  • Experience in the technical aspects of video production, including camera operation, sound, etc. (an asset)

  • University degree or equivalent work experience

For this position, your total compensation includes the following:

  • Base salary and discretionary performance bonus: A total annual salary (base salary plus target bonus) ranging from $99,000 to $135,000, depending on your experience and skills.
  • RRSP contributions: After six months of employment, we invest in your future by contributing to a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), with no requirement for you to contribute.
