Position Summary

The Director of Finance provides strategic financial leadership and analysis in support of the school’s mission, priorities, and long-term financial sustainability. This role partners with the Dean and Executive Director of Finance and Administration to lead a transparent, collaborative budget development process, monitor financial performance, and provide timely reporting and forecasting to support informed decision-making. The Director also leverages Workday functionality to improve financial transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency across the school.

Job Description

Primary Duties & :

  • Strategic Financial Leadership - Provides strategic financial leadership and analysis to the Dean in support of the school’s mission, priorities, and long-term financial sustainability.
  • Financial Planning & Stewardship - Aligns school financial planning with institutional goals and ensures responsible stewardship of resources.
  • Budget Development - Leads a transparent, collaborative budget development process with school leadership and administrative units.
  • Forecasting, Reconciliation, and Variance Analysis - Develops financial projections, monitors budget performance, and provides variance analysis, reconciliation, and forecasting.
  • Reporting and Financial Transparency - Creates reporting processes that promote transparency, accountability, and timely access to financial information for stakeholders.
  • Workday & Financial Systems - Leverages Workday functionality to improve financial operations, reporting, planning, and workflow efficiency.
  • Financial Review of New Initiatives - Evaluates new programs, initiatives, and financial proposals for fiscal impact and strategic alignment.
  • Liaison and External Financial Representation - Represents the school in financial discussions with central administration, other university units, and external partners; serves as a liaison on institutional financial matters, regulatory changes, and system updates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$84,200.00 - $148,500.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
