Position: Senior Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Analyst

Location: Warsaw

Working hours: Full-time

Employment type: Permanent contract (hybrid model – work in the office at least three days a week).

About the role

The purpose of the General Counsel’s Office (GCO) is to "enable safe operation." This means we provide Pinsent Masons with advice and support regarding risk, regulation, and law so that the firm can achieve its economic, operational, and strategic goals in accordance with applicable regulations and within the established risk appetite.

The position is part of the Regulatory Team within the GCO and supports the realization of its purpose by helping to ensure the firm's compliance with legal and regulatory obligations regarding AML/KYC, sanctions, and conflict of interest management.

The Regulatory Team operates in a regional structure. The person hired for the Senior Analyst position will focus primarily on their assigned region. However, support and assistance are also expected across all jurisdictions where the firm operates, as needed.

Key :

• Supporting the client and matter onboarding process.
• Conducting anti-money laundering checks and risk assessments in accordance with relevant regulations and the firm's AML policy.
• Researching potential clients and matters based on publicly available information, verification tools, and other relevant databases.
• Verifying information provided by submitting teams and identifying gaps and additional requirements.
• Answering questions from stakeholders across the firm regarding the client and matter onboarding process and regulatory issues.
• Building effective relationships with colleagues from different regions and business areas.
• Providing support to other jurisdictions and regional teams as needed.
• Acting as an escalation point for junior team members.
• Supporting the onboarding of new hires, training, and knowledge-sharing activities across the team, as appropriate.
• Supporting recruitment activities as needed.
• Participating in global and regional projects of the General Counsel’s Office, as needed.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of processes, systems, controls, and ways of working.

Candidate profile

We expect the Senior Analyst to provide excellent client service, make a positive contribution to the team's success, and support the development of the firm's business. This position will require administrative, IT, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Proactive and flexible management of and timely completion of tasks will be necessary.

Additional requirements include:

• Significant experience in AML, KYC, or regulatory compliance, preferably gained in a law firm or another professional services firm.
• Experience in conducting risk-based due diligence and complex reviews related to client onboarding.
• Experience in searching and analyzing information from multiple internal and external sources.
• Experience in identifying and escalating regulatory and compliance-related risks.
• Experience in supporting, mentoring, or training junior colleagues.
• Experience in an international or multi-jurisdictional environment is welcome.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills and the ability to obtain and synthesize information from various sources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Sound judgment and the ability to formulate risk-based recommendations.
• Professionalism and composure, as well as very good organizational and prioritization skills.
• Attention to accuracy, high standards, and excellent client service.
