Job description
Location: São Paulo – SP | Model: Hybrid | Level: Mid-level
About the role
Professional to work in the second line of defense in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF). The position focuses on the analysis of alerts and atypical operations, the decision on reporting to COAF, and technical support to business areas — with direct exposure to the regulator and audit.
- Analyze alerts generated by the transactional monitoring system, evaluating the compatibility between transactions and the customer profile
- Conduct the analysis of suspicious operations and prepare a well-founded technical opinion, with the decision on whether or not to report to COAF
- Register reports in SISCOAF within regulatory deadlines
- Execute the enhanced KYC (EDD) process for higher-risk customers: PEPs, exposed persons, sensitive sectors, non-residents
- Perform checks against restrictive lists (OFAC, UN, sanctions), negative media, and public databases
- Apply and review the customer risk classification methodology (KYC Risk Rating)
- Support the calibration of monitoring rules and scenarios, proposing adjustments to reduce false positives
- Handle requests from judicial orders, Bacen, COAF, and the Public Prosecutor's Office
- Support internal and external audits and the Internal Risk Assessment (AIR)
- Contribute to the updating of AML/CTF policies, procedures, and training
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or related fields
- 3 to 6 years of experience in AML/CTF in a financial institution, payment service provider, or fintech
- Mastery of Bacen Circular 3.978/20, Law 9.613/98, and COAF regulations
- Practical experience in alert analysis, drafting opinions, and reporting to SISCOAF
- Knowledge of money laundering typologies and risk-based approach (RBA)
- Intermediate/advanced Excel for transactional analysis
Desirable
- CPA-20, CAMS certification, or equivalent in compliance/AML
- Experience with transactional monitoring tools and KYC/screening systems
- SQL or Power BI for data extraction and analysis
- Experience in AML for specific products: foreign exchange, Pix, cards, credit
- Previous interface with Fraud (ID&F), Risk, and Legal departments
- Intermediate English
Behavioral profile
Analytical capacity to connect scattered evidence and build a consistent narrative about the operation. Firm and independent stance — the decision to report to COAF cannot yield to commercial pressure. Clear technical writing, as the opinion is the main product of the role and may be read by the regulator years later. Absolute discretion: the duty of confidentiality and the prohibition of tipping-off are non-negotiable.
Position indicators
Volume and timeliness of alerts handled, adherence to regulatory reporting deadlines, quality of the opinion in quality reviews, false positive rate of the portfolio, and absence of audit/regulator findings.
