Position Overview
The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Intern - Community Development and Services in the Department of Community Development and Services. The consideration for hire list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under direct supervision, assists assigned staff and management with a variety of routine functions related to the City’s Community Development and Services Department; performs additional duties as assigned.

This is a part-time, non-PERS eligible position.

This position does not qualify for employer-paid benefits, paid time off, wage increases, or union representation

This position requires enrollment in the City's Alternate Retirement Systems (ARS)

Work schedule will consist of an average of 19 hours/week. Hours per week may increase or decrease based on Department need.

The expected working hours will be between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM and is flexible around the incumbent's school schedule. Some weekends are a possibility.

The physical work location is City Hall located at 240 S Water St, Henderson, NV, 89015

Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from high school, or the equivalent
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, with a 3.0 GPA or higher, in the third year of an undergraduate program or the first year of a graduate program with a major in Architecture, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Geography, Engineering, Sociology, Historic Preservation, Public Administration, or a related field
- Desirable: Experience with Microsoft Office, and other graphic software such as CAD, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite
