Accountant position is responsible for assisting the Finance Division in preparing accurate and timely financial statements for the university. Position requires a thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles of US, (GAAP) and theories, doctrines, systems, principles, practices and terminology of accounting issues and transactions.

  •  Responsible for daily financial analysis and research of outstanding discrepancies in (4) clearing accounts. Prepare Journal Entries (JE) into EAS Systems to correct outstanding balances after communicating with the Cashier’s Office, running Banner Reports, and contacting applicable university officials for adjustments documentation.

  •  Responsible for daily research and account activity reporting for financial analysis in multiple platforms applications such as Banner systems, EAS, Microsoft excel, PNC Bank systems, Master card connect and Western Union domains.

  •  Preparation and daily recording of incoming Fed Wires (Daily) incoming wires, ACHS, international wire transfers and departmental deposits to allocate funds transfer to correct accounts across GW.

  •  Process monthly clearing account financial analysis and submit final Reconciliation.

  • Prepare Variance financial analysis in excel (Quarterly) for Balance Sheet Statement.

  •  Responsible for monthly analysis and preparation for (8) balance sheet account reconciliations and processing of adjusting journal entries in EAS.

  •  Review and record timely JE for record receipts in EAS Systems Daily communicate with departments GW to obtain information for correct funds allocation.

  •  Process JE for closing of petty cash funds as approved confirmations with Treasury Management and internal customers are finalized and supporting documentation provided.

  •  Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
