Assistant Technician (SUGT, PGR Teaching) – 39 weeks per year, pro-rata

The Stopford Undergraduate Teaching Laboratories (SUGT) based in the Stopford Building is a large suite of labs which supports practical teaching for all undergraduate students within the Faculty of Biology, Medicine & Health.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking individual with a good scientific background to contribute to a service which values student experience above all else. The main purpose of this role is to provide technical support as required, as well as to ensure that the equipment and consumables required for delivery of our practical sessions is well stocked & maintained and available, depending on the skills being taught. Housekeeping will also be an important aspect of the role.

You would be working as part of a technical team to support specific student practical classes. Because we operate a flexible and agile technical service you could be required to work across undergraduate, postgraduate and pharmacy laboratory teams, depending on the needs of the service.

Please note, this is a term-time only role and the pay will be 75% of the full-time equivalent (pro-rata).
