Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a cleared, mid-level Data Analyst to support U.S. Cyber Command. The analyst will perform data acquisition, data-quality assessments, governance reviews, and mission-focused analysis to maximize the value of data supporting cyber defense operations.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Plan and conduct structured reviews of data assets, ingestion pipelines, metadata, classification records, retention practices, and data quality.

  • Perform data acquisition activities , coordinating connections,, and documenting source requirements.

  • Evaluate data platforms, governance configurations, access controls, and security-relevant settings for compliance and operational effectiveness.

  • Implement data-quality checks at ingestion , schema changes, incomplete records, and delivery failures.

  • Produce evidence-based findings, compliance reports, risk assessments, and technical recommendations.

  • Map findings to applicable requirements, including NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and program-specific policies.

  • Maintain findings and remediation logs; assign actions, track progress, verify closure, and escalate unresolved issues.

  • Identifydata governance risks, including policy gaps, configuration weaknesses, access-control issues, data-quality problems, and retention concerns.

  • Maintain audit methodologies, checklists, schedules, procedures, and reporting templates.

  • Maintain documentation for data sources, pipelines, ingestion schedules, platform configurations, metadata, known issues, and data dependencies.

  • Support data lineage, cataloging, metadata management, and source-to-consumer traceability.

  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, cybersecurity personnel, platform administrators, subject-matter experts, and government stakeholders.

  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations to technical and nontechnical audiences.

  • Support onboarding of new data sources and continuous improvement of data acquisition and governance processes.

  • Use structured analysis and reporting techniques to support mission assessments, data availability evaluations, and operational decision-making.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Active Top Secret security .

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, or a related field, and 5 years of relevant professional experience; 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent DoD-approved cybersecurity certification.

  • Experience conducting data-quality, compliance, governance, cybersecurity, or IT audits in a structured environment.

  • Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks, including NIST SP 800-53 and FISMA.

  • Experience evaluating data sources, pipelines, metadata, access controls, platform configurations, or data-governance processes.

  • Experience developing clear, evidence-based findings reports, compliance documentation, technical assessments, and recommendations.

  • Understanding of data-quality principles, data validation, data lineage, metadata, classification, retention, and access control.

  • , documenting findings, tracking remediation, and verifying corrective actions.

  • Ability to assess technical environments and documentation, including data pipelines and platform configurations, with limited or indirect system access.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret and apply policy and technical documentation.

  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with teams.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Two or more years of experience using threat-hunting or cyber-defense applications such as Ionic, Superset, Rally, Feed Health, or comparable tools.

  • Experience administering or analyzing data from Splunk, Security Onion, Gigamon, or comparable cybersecurity platforms.

  • Experience with data acquisition, source onboarding, ingestion validation, data integration, or data pipeline monitoring.

  • Familiarity with streaming technologies and event-driven data architectures.

  • Experience with data lineage concepts and tools.

  • Experience with data cataloging and metadata-management tools such asDataHub, Collibra, Alation, Apache Atlas, or equivalent platforms.

  • Experience with audit-management, governance, risk, and compliance tools or platforms.

  • Experience developing data-quality rules, validation checks, dashboards, metrics, or operational reports.

  • Experience supporting NIST, RMF, FedRAMP, STIG, Authority to Operate, or comparable compliance activities.

  • Experience supporting DoD, federal, intelligence-community, or cyber-defense missions.

  • Experience leading small teams, coordinating technical activities, or mentoring junior analysts.

  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or other structured delivery methodologies.

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Top Secret security clearance is required for this position.​

Salary Range: $88,400.00 - $154,700.00
