Job Description

As an Engine Programmer at Ubisoft Montreal, you will contribute to the evolution of the technological foundations of For Honor within the core technology team.

You will develop and optimize the engine systems of a live game, in collaboration with the gameplay, online services, tools, user interface, and graphics teams. Your work will support the performance and stability of the game as well as the tools used by the team.

What you will do:

  • Develop and maintain core engine systems;
  • Investigate and resolve complex performance, stability, and memory issues;
  • Design and integrate technological improvements to meet production needs;
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to implement technical solutions;
  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to the team's programming practices;
  • Support other programmers in the use and evolution of engine systems;
  • Contribute to the optimization, automation, and modernization of project technologies;
  • Follow the evolution of technologies and improve development processes.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or any other equivalent training.

Relevant experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software programming, ideally in the video game industry or any other relevant experience.

What you bring to the team:

  • Leverage your experience in C++ programming;
  • Understand game engine architecture and low-level systems;
  • Apply your experience in performance optimization, multi-threading, or memory management;
  • Solve technical problems and use debugging methods;
  • Know Anvil or Scimitar, or have a desire to learn how to use the engine;
  • Bring, as an asset, experience on a multiplayer game or a live game.
