The University of Manchester is inviting applications for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to lead the design of next-generation vision sensors. This role focuses on developing mixed-signal integrated circuits (ICs) for advanced imaging and edge computing applications, exploring novel approaches to integrating sensing and pixel-level processing.

The research involves full-custom chip design using state-of-the-art EDA tools and fabrication of analogue and mixed-signal circuits. You will explore new transistor-level circuits through simulations and layout design, while also contributing to the back-end physical implementation of digital subsystems. The work addresses practical aspects of system implementation, including chip tape-out, post-silicon laboratory bring-up, system integration, and building practical technology demonstrations of the fabricated silicon.

This position is embedded within a long-standing research programme on vision sensors and neuromorphic computing circuits in the laboratory of Prof Piotr Dudek at the University of Manchester. The role is directly associated with the EPSRC-funded project on "On-sensor Computer Vision," carried out in collaboration with Imperial College London, University of Bristol, and industrial partners.
