About the role

Together with the entire DSP team, the DSP Operator performs all necessary purification steps required for the launch process and commercial production of biologics from microbial systems. The DSP Operator is responsible for executing the required process steps and associated preparations (equipment, materials) and documenting them in accordance with GMP regulations.

Key :

• Purification of biologics in a facility for launch and commercial production based on manufacturing instructions, protocols, and SOPs

• Testing and performing chromatography, filtration, and buffer preparation steps, and working as a facility expert to develop optimal and efficient procedures and workflows

• Responsible for monitoring all purification steps (manually or via the process control system)

• Performing sampling and submission, i.e., taking process samples or other monitoring samples throughout the DSP process and coordinating storage/handover with the analytics department

• Responsible for DSP equipment, i.e., setting up and testing equipment, performing necessary routines (calibration, cleaning), and troubleshooting inside and outside the process

• Working according to all GMP and HSE standards and protocols

• Creating relevant DSP documents (e.g., operating instructions, SOPs, user requirements)

• Contributing to maintaining the GMP status of the facilities and production rooms (e.g., through sampling for monitoring, performing necessary cleaning) and ensuring that all necessary work is carried out in the quality systems (e.g., deviations or CAPAs)

• Performing functional checks or other equipment tests

About you

Education/Experience:

• Chemical technician (Chemikant) or similar qualification

• Experience in the purification of biologics (e.g., antibodies) on a larger scale and handling DSP equipment

• Sound knowledge of chromatography and filtration methods, as well as buffer preparation and associated equipment

• Experience in Drug Substance manufacturing or a similar production area

• Experience working according to and with GMP regulations and in cleanrooms

• Experience with equipment and facility qualification

• An eye for setting up efficient workflows (Lean approach) as well as sensible and lean processes

Soft skills / Technical skills:

• Structured and solution-oriented way of thinking and working

• Team player with excellent communication skills, e.g., for daily open and goal-oriented exchange between the USP and DSP teams, as well as with the analytics and technical departments

• Motivation to continuously work on improvements and introduce efficient procedures

Compensation is based on the federal collective bargaining agreement of the chemical industry.

Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
