THE ROLE At British Business Bank, you will help turn business priorities and end-user needs into practical outcomes that support our strategic ambitions. Joining our Change & Innovation team, you will contribute to initiatives that improve how we work, bringing people together to create lasting and meaningful change.

This newly created role will manage business and technology transformation for BBB’s Investments business, which itself manages the UK Government’s investments in private debt and equity markets, in pursuit of national policy objectives. BBB’s investments are held in either private asset funds or direct investment.

Previous experience in Investment Management, public or private sector, and in private investment markets is preferred but not essential.

You will combine delivery management and product ownership practices to guide projects from idea through to completion. You will help define outcomes, maintain product backlogs and translate business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria. By co-ordinating schedules, dependencies and milestones, you will help teams deliver work efficiently and to the required quality.

Working with colleagues across product, operations, data, technology and other business areas, you will build shared understanding and encourage open communication. You will manage scope, budgets, risks and priorities, while keeping stakeholders informed about progress. You will also facilitate forums such as sprint planning sessions, retrospectives and steering groups.

You will use feedback, data and delivery insights to identify improvements, remove obstacles and help teams focus on valuable outcomes. Your understanding of Agile approaches, including Scrum, Kanban or hybrid frameworks, will help you promote transparent and consistent ways of working.

You will bring relevant experience from product, project or delivery management, including delivering cross-functional initiatives and managing timelines, budgets and dependencies. You will communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences and be comfortable using delivery tools such as Jira or Confluence. Experience of governance, risk and compliance within financial services will also support your success. Relevant professional certification is welcomed but is not essential.

If you enjoy simplifying complexity, exploring better ways of working and helping others succeed, you can make a valuable contribution in this role.
