This role operates on a hybrid working arrangement that will require 3/4 days travel into our Stratford campus. This may fluctuate in line with business requirements. Our working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.

About the Opportunity:
To lead, develop and monitor postgraduate and undergraduate programmes, ensuring high levels of student outcomes. This includes curriculum development and quality management and enhancement, alongside the full range of teaching duties.
You will undertake effective ongoing review and enhancement of the programme, ensuring high levels of student engagement and outcomes, and ensuring teaching is research-informed, up to date and enables students to develop high levels of subject knowledge and skills for graduate level employment.
The role includes designing and/or leading the development of teaching material, supporting new course proposals and the creation of new programmes and modules, while building internal and external networks and developing links with relevant professional bodies and academic groups.
You will also contribute to planning and managing academic resource, including workload allocation of academic staff and ensuring resources are appropriately deployed.
About You:
We are looking for someone who can be a positive role model to staff and students, challenge thinking, foster debate and develop the ability of students to engage in critical discourse. You will have the ability to develop initiative, creativity and judgement to apply appropriate approaches to teaching, learning and assessment, and respond to, and where possible resolve, problems and practical challenges that may affect the achievement of objectives and deadlines.
Essential requirements:

Undertake the full range of teaching duties.

Ensure high levels of student engagement and outcomes on the programme.

Undertake effective ongoing review and enhancement of the programme.

Demonstrate and promote high levels of digital literacy in teaching and use of resources.

Ensure teaching is research-informed, up to date and enables students to develop high levels of subject knowledge and skills for graduate level employment.

Design and/or lead the development of teaching material for undergraduate, postgraduate level programmes, short courses or CPD.

Work in accordance with University policies and procedures to drive high quality assessment design and implementation.

Manage annual workload allocation of academic staff contributing to the programme.

Line manage module leaders and lecturers, recruiting, monitoring and supporting the development of team members.

Manage staff issues in line with policies and procedures.

Identify and address development needs of academics to ensure effective continuing professional development.

Act as a Named PAC: Manage a defined caseload of students, acting as their primary academic point of contact.

Make presentations at conferences/internal or external events.

Support the University in the development of its research and scholarly activity and culture.

Assist with consultancy projects relevant to subject discipline.

Cross school dissemination of knowledge and best practice.

Support the University in furthering its national and international reputation in innovation and teaching excellence through contributions to scholarly debate and discussion.

Contribute to the development of commercial activity and consultancy projects relevant to subject discipline.

Work with the Senior Academic Team to contribute to key change projects aligned with the University’s Strategy and the Learning, Teaching and Assessment Plan.
