Job Description:
The ServiceNow Architect is a senior technology leader responsible for designing, governing, and guiding scalable ServiceNow solutions that advance business goals. This role serves as the primary bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, establishing platform standards, directing solution architecture, and ensuring integrations, security controls, performance, and user experience are aligned across the ServiceNow ecosystem.
Essential Functions:
- Define end-to-end ServiceNow architecture and technical roadmaps for enterprise capabilities, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned to business strategy.
- Translate business objectives, operating needs, and user requirements into platform architecture, solution designs, functional capabilities, and prioritized technical direction.
- Establish and enforce platform governance, architectural guardrails, coding standards, configuration standards, and technical review practices to protect platform health and limit unnecessary customization.
- Guide developers, administrators, product owners, and technical leads through design decisions, implementation approaches, peer reviews, and complex issue resolution.
- Design and govern secure integrations with enterprise systems, including identity services, ERP platforms, APIs, and other approved data sources; validate dependencies, data flows, and access requirements.
- Provide architecture leadership across core ServiceNow capabilities, including ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, Service Mapping, AIOps, and other modules adopted by the organization.
- Define and validate role-based access, least-privilege permissions, data-protection requirements, and platform security controls in partnership with cybersecurity and identity teams.
- Assess platform performance, custom code, workflows, and configurations; recommend remediation and modernization actions that improve reliability, speed, and upgrade readiness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years prior Palantir experience or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior Palantir experience In lieu of degree, minimum 13 years of prior Palantir experience.
- Minimum of 9 years of progressively responsible ServiceNow experience, including solution architecture, platform design, implementation, or technical leadership.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Demonstrated experience designing scalable ServiceNow solutions and translating business requirements into clear technical architecture and implementation direction.
- Strong knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture, configuration, scripting, integration patterns, data models, and lifecycle management.
- Experience with ITSM and at least two additional ServiceNow capabilities such as ITOM, CMDB, Service Mapping, HRSD, AIOps, GRC, or Customer Service Management.
- Working knowledge of secure integration design, REST and SOAP APIs, identity and access management, role-based access controls, and data-protection principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain architectural decisions to technical and business audiences.
- Experience establishing platform standards, reviewing technical designs, and leading cross-functional teams through complex delivery decisions.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and one or more relevant ServiceNow implementation or architect certifications.
- ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA), Certified Master Architect (CMA), or demonstrated progress toward an advanced ServiceNow architect credential.
- Experience leading enterprise ServiceNow integrations with identity platforms, ERP systems, monitoring tools, cloud services, or custom applications.
- Experience with enterprise architecture, ITIL, Agile delivery, DevSecOps, platform governance, and technical debt management.
- Knowledge of CMDB governance, discovery, service mapping, data quality, and service-oriented operating models.
- Experience mentoring ServiceNow technical staff and establishing reusable architecture patterns, implementation guidance, or governance forums.
- Ability to balance standardization and user experience with business delivery needs while maintaining secure, supportable platform solutions.
- Strong documentation skills, including architecture diagrams, technical standards, decision records, and solution-design artifacts.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $122,000-$227,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $106,000-$197,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
