About The Opportunity

As our Senior Civil Designer, you’ll play an important role in delivering Council’s Civil Design Program and helping shape the infrastructure our community relies on every day.

You’ll undertake investigations and develop practical design solutions for a diverse range of municipal infrastructure, including roads, drainage, water and wastewater projects. From concept through to detailed design, you’ll prepare and review drawings, digital models, technical documentation and cost estimates, while helping ensure projects meet relevant standards and Council requirements.

You’ll also bring your experience to the wider Design team, providing technical guidance, mentoring and peer review while contributing to consistent, high-quality design practices and continuous improvement.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• A Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil), Associate Degree in Engineering (Civil), or equivalent qualification from a Washington Accord accredited body
• Significant experience designing municipal civil infrastructure, including roads, drainage, water and wastewater reticulation, supported by an understanding of construction and maintenance practices.
• Strong capability using civil design and drafting technology, particularly 12d Model and AutoCAD, along with stormwater modelling tools and a working knowledge of GIS.
• A comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, standards and guidelines, alongside sound professional judgement and an ability to develop practical, innovative design solutions.
• Great communication and collaboration skills, with demonstrated experience supporting and mentoring others and a commitment to quality assurance, risk management and continuous improvement.
• Class C Driver Licence and Construction Industry General Safety Induction (White Card)
