Lead international projects from design to delivery

Do you want to lead technically complex projects that contribute to areas such as scientific research or the energy transition? At Demaco, you will work on cryogenic installations for international clients. From design and engineering to production, testing, and delivery: almost everything happens under one roof in Noord-Scharwoude.

As a Technical Project Manager, you maintain control over the entire project. You connect the client with our internal specialists and ensure that projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and with the required quality.

What will you do? You are responsible for multiple technical client projects that are in various phases. Depending on the type and scale, you will have 12 to 30 active projects under your care. These range in value from € 5.000 to € 15 million and have a lead time of six weeks to three years.

You will work together with, among others, account managers, estimators, engineers, work planners, purchasers, production staff, and technicians. You monitor the big picture, keep a grip on the details, and ensure that everyone involved knows what is expected of them.

Your tasks include:

  • Determining project specifications with the client, sales, and engineering;

  • Drafting and monitoring project plans, schedules, and budgets;

  • Coordinating the project team;

  • Monitoring quality, safety, project risks, and the agreed-upon scope of delivery;

  • Maintaining client contact and coordinating changes and deviations;

  • Making purchasing decisions with the Purchasing department, within applicable authorities;

  • Reporting on progress and results and ensuring proper delivery and project evaluation.

You are given a lot of freedom to move projects forward and make independent decisions. You coordinate the deployment of colleagues with the responsible department managers. In doing so, you are responsible for the choices you make and the results of your projects.

You will be the fourth project manager within the team. Because our clients are located all over the world, you will visit a client or project site abroad a few times a year. A trip usually lasts a maximum of seven days and could, for example, be to the United States.

What do you bring? You are client- and result-oriented, maintain an overview, and have the courage to make decisions. Even when a project goes differently than planned, you remain calm, set priorities, and steer in a targeted manner.

In addition, you possess:

  • A completed technical HBO degree or a comparable level of work and thinking;

  • At least two years of experience in coordinating or leading technical projects, for example as a project manager, project leader, project engineer, or lead engineer;

  • Experience within a technical company that develops and engineers its own products, machines, or installations;

  • Technical insight and affinity with engineering;

  • Experience with ERP systems, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office;

  • A good command of the Dutch and English language;

  • The willingness to travel abroad a few times a year.

Experience with cryogenic technology is not necessary. We find it most important that you quickly understand technical processes and are curious about our specialist field.

What do we offer you? At Demaco, you work in an informal and collegial organization where engineering and production work closely together. You get plenty of room to take responsibility and further develop yourself.

In addition, we offer:

  • A gross monthly salary between € 4.000 and € 6.000, depending on your knowledge and experience;

  • A one-year contract with the intention of converting it into a permanent position;

  • 27 vacation days and 13 ADV days: a total of 40 days off for a full-time position;

  • A good pension scheme via PME;

  • A company laptop and phone;

  • An easily accessible work location in Noord-Scharwoude;

  • Room for training, education, and international career opportunities within Demaco, OPW, and Dover.
