Three organizations, one shared direction, and a key role for HR
As a strategic HR professional, do you want to have a real impact on the development of three technical organizations? In this broad management role, you will not only determine the HR direction but also ensure that plans come to life within the organizations.
As Senior Group HR Manager, you are responsible for HR within the three Dutch business units of OPW: OPW in Nieuw-Vennep, Demaco in Noord-Scharwoude, and SPS in Heerhugowaard. You are part of the management teams and work closely with the Managing Director, who oversees the three locations.
You will be operating in an interesting field. Locally, you are closely involved with employees, managers, and developments within the three organizations. Internationally, you report directly to the HR Director in the United States and ensure that the global HR strategy of OPW and Dover is appropriately translated into the Dutch context.
A great position for a strong and accessible HR Manager who effortlessly connects strategy and execution.
What will you do?
As Senior Group HR Manager, you will develop the joint HR direction for the three Dutch locations. You are an important sparring partner for the Managing Director, the management teams, and the department heads. You understand what is happening within the various organizations and know how to translate this into clear HR priorities and concrete actions.
Your include:
-
Developing and executing the HR strategy for OPW, Demaco, and SPS.
-
Advising the Managing Director, management teams, and department heads on strategic and operational HR issues.
-
Connecting the international HR guidelines of Dover Corporation with the Dutch labor market, labor law, and organizational culture.
-
Further and, where possible, harmonizing HR policies, procedures, and processes across the three locations.
-
Guiding organizational development, change processes, and issues regarding the structure and staffing of the organizations.
-
Developing strategic workforce planning and succession planning.
-
Strengthening leadership, talent development, and internal career opportunities.
-
Further developing performance management and the appraisal cycle.
-
Advising on employment conditions, compensation, promotions, and sustainable employability.
-
Stimulating employee engagement, job satisfaction, and an inclusive, result-oriented corporate culture.
-
Monitoring relevant HR KPIs and translating them into insights and advice for management.
-
Ensuring compliance with Dutch labor law and the HR guidelines of Dover Corporation.
You will maintain an eye for the unique identity and culture of each location. Not everything needs to be the same, but where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and joint processes offer added value, you will take the lead.
Your position and team
You are part of the management teams and work intensively with the Managing Director and CFOs. From an HR perspective, you contribute to thinking and decision-making regarding the direction, growth, and further of the three organizations.
You manage one HR employee and are supported in the recruitment of new colleagues by a dedicated interim recruitment specialist. Together, you ensure professional, accessible, and reliable HR services.
Although you report directly to the HR Director in the United States, you remain close to the Dutch organizations. You are visible and approachable at the three locations and know what is happening on the work floor and within management.
What do you bring?
We are looking for an experienced HR professional who is strong enough to provide direction, but also remains accessible to employees and managers. You can switch between strategy and daily practice and feel at home in an international, technical environment.
In addition, you bring:
-
A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a similar field.
-
At least five years of experience in a broad and final-responsibility role as a Senior HR Manager, Senior HR Business Partner, or similar.
-
Experience with HR responsibility for multiple locations, business units, or entities.
-
Experience as a strategic business partner and advisor to executive and management teams.
-
Experience with organizational development, change management, and leadership development.
-
Good knowledge of Dutch labor law and current developments in the labor market.
-
Experience with developing and implementing HR policies and processes.
-
An analytical eye and the ability to translate HR data into concrete insights and actions.
-
Strong communication and advisory skills.
-
The ability to build relationships and guide stakeholders at different levels through changes.
-
Excellent command of Dutch and English, both verbal and written.
Experience within an international organization or an organization with an American parent company is a clear advantage.
What do we offer?
A responsible HR position in which you have plenty of room to further shape the HR strategy for the three Dutch organizations. You combine the power of an international organization with the short lines of communication and involvement of the local locations. In addition, we offer:
-
A full-time position, preferably 40 and at least 36 hours per week.
-
A competitive salary that matches the weight and responsibility of the position.
-
Attractive secondary employment conditions, including a good pension scheme.
-
Hybrid working is possible.
-
A one-year contract with the intention of converting it into a permanent contract.
-
Laptop, phone, and potentially a company lease car.
-
A key position within three technical organizations that are in full development.
-
A seat on the management team and direct influence on the direction and further of the organizations.
-
A broad role in which strategic and operational HR come together.
-
An international working environment with a direct reporting line to the HR Director in the United States.
-
The space to create more collaboration and connection between the three organizations and the international teams, while maintaining their own identity.
-
Support from an HR advisor and a dedicated interim recruitment specialist.
