Job Description

As a Game Designer at Ubisoft Montréal, you will work on various game systems and mechanics. You will contribute to creating experiences that give weight to player choices. Throughout production, you will adjust and balance your designs while considering the details and the overall gaming experience.

What you will do

  • Design game mechanics and systems in line with design and creative directions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate the features you are responsible for
  • Create prototypes in Unreal Engine and evaluate their performance
  • Adapt your designs to technical and production constraints
  • Find solutions to problems affecting features
  • Create and maintain design documentation for collaborating teams
  • Evolve features through testing, adjustments, and balancing
Qualifications

What you bring to the team

  • Leverage in-depth expertise in game design across various systems and mechanics
  • Use Unreal Engine as well as word processing and spreadsheet tools
  • Apply your thinking and design skills to a variety of game problems
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the AAA video game market
  • Bring experience in shipping AAA video games, an asset for this position
  • Show your enthusiasm for creating high-quality AAA video games
  • Communicate and present your ideas clearly, both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrate empathy, collaboration, curiosity, resourcefulness, and flexibility
