About the role

We have a new opportunity for a BIM Specialist to join our team in Reading.

At Hoare Lea, BIM is a valued discipline and a driver of innovation.

Our BIM teams work closely with engineers, consultants and project stakeholders to develop accurate models, coordinate building services and support successful project delivery.

This is a hands-on role, combining BIM modelling, coordination and project delivery support. You will work on projects from concept through to tender, taking responsibility for elements of the modelling and coordination process while also supporting the wider project team.

The role would suit someone who enjoys working directly in Revit and other BIM platforms, contributing to model development, resolving coordination issues and helping project teams deliver high-quality information. You will also have the opportunity to support junior colleagues and contribute to internal BIM discussions and processes.

In this role, you can expect to:

• Undertake BIM modelling using Revit and other relevant tools.
• Develop and update building services models in line with project requirements and design information.
• Coordinate building services systems with architectural, structural and other specialist disciplines.
• Review models, identify clashes and support the resolution of coordination issues.
• Produce and review high-quality project deliverables in line with graphical and industry standards.
• Monitor model quality and information, ensuring that models remain accurate, coordinated and fit for purpose.
• Prepare and contribute to clash reports, coordination reviews and project actions.
• Attend and contribute to internal BIM, design and coordination meetings.
• Support external BIM and clash detection meetings with clients, consultants and project partners.
• Work closely with engineers and project teams to understand design requirements and translate them into coordinated models.
• Review BIM documentation, including BIM Execution Plans, and support the team in following agreed project processes.
• Assist with COBie, asset data input and parameter management where required.
• Help identify and resolve gaps or inconsistencies in project information.
• Support the development of junior team members through day-to-day guidance, knowledge sharing and mentoring.
• Contribute to internal BIM training, process improvement and the wider BIM community.
• Take responsibility for your own modelling and coordination outputs while supporting the wider team to meet project deadlines.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience working in a BIM or digital design role within the building services or MEP sector.
• A willingness to undertake modelling and coordination as part of your day-to-day role.
• An understanding of building services systems and how they interact with architectural and structural design.
• Experience identifying clashes and supporting the coordination and resolution of design issues.
• Good knowledge of BIM workflows, standards and project information requirements.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload and deadlines.
• Clear communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, consultants, clients and other project stakeholders.
• An interest in supporting and mentoring junior colleagues.

Experience with the following would also be beneficial:

• COBie and asset information.
• Parameter management.
• BIM Execution Plans and project standards.
• Navisworks or other clash detection and coordination tools.
• Supporting BIM meetings, training or process improvement activities.
