Job Description

Our regional representatives are in personal contact with our customers. They understand their needs and provide advice to ensure the optimal solutions for their requirements are available. The close cooperation of our field sales teams plays a decisive role in promoting our customer-oriented business model.

The position of Regional Sales Manager (North/West) Livestock Technology (m/f/d) is responsible for leading the sales team for ruminant technologies to achieve regional revenue targets and organizational goals, and to successfully position the technology product portfolio in the market. The position includes the direct management of a regional sales team with up to 10 "Technology Sales Representatives (m/f/d)" and/or "Customer Success Specialists (m/f/d)".

The responsibility covers the North/West region (Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland). The job holder must reside in this region, ideally centrally, or be willing to relocate there.

The duties of this position include in particular:

  • Development and implementation of a comprehensive regional business plan to ensure consistent product and program implementation as well as the achievement of sales targets.
  • Integration of effective lead generation strategies into regional business plans to drive business development in line with financial objectives.
  • Ensuring professional account management with the goal of exceeding our customers' expectations, achieving a high Net Promoter Score, and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Direct influence on the performance of the Business Unit through strong leadership and management skills.
  • Responsibility for talent management, in particular the acquisition, retention, and motivation of employees in the regional sales team. Leading, coaching, and developing the sales team as well as fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture. Conducting formal and informal performance reviews as well as continuous feedback and recognition of successes. Constructive handling of conflict situations.
  • Targeted and effective communication to ensure consistent messaging and clear leadership within the region.
  • Independent development of new ideas and approaches for further business development. Problem-solving beyond the regional level.
  • Close cooperation with other regional teams as well as the Technology Support and BioPharma teams.
  • Building strong networks within the EURAM region and leveraging exchanges with international peers to promote best practices and continuous development.
  • Establishing and maintaining sustainable relationships with relevant sales partners and distributors to promote the product portfolio.

Qualifications / Skills

  • 5 to 8 years of proven professional experience in a customer-oriented role, preferably in Customer Success, Sales, Account Management, or comparable areas of responsibility.
  • Enthusiasm for agriculture and technology as well as a sound understanding of dairy farming, including reproduction, animal health, feeding, and milk quality.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or comparable professional experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as fluent German and good English skills.
  • Technical understanding as well as the ability to grasp and communicate complex products and systems.
  • Sound knowledge in the field of animal health technologies or comparable technical, product-related, and market-related expertise; experience in the dairy market is an advantage.
  • Practical experience in dairy farming or experience in direct sales to farmers is desirable.
  • Strong market share orientation and focus on potential and growth opportunities.
  • Knowledge of territory and business management.
  • Leadership experience as well as the ability to build and develop high-performing teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel extensively with overnight stays (approx. 50%).
  • Residence in the sales region or willingness to relocate to the corresponding region.
