PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £95,500 - £115,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights. London Weighting may be applicable.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We're looking for an experienced and influential HR leader to become the Interim Head of HR for Northern Ireland and part of the Nations HR Team.
Reporting to the Deputy HR Director, Nations, you will lead the people agenda across BBC Northern Ireland, partnering with senior leaders to shape organisational performance, culture and workforce strategy. You'll provide strategic HR leadership across a dynamic and high-profile part of the BBC, ensuring people priorities are aligned with business objectives and support the delivery of outstanding content and services for audiences.
As a trusted adviser to the Director of BBC Northern Ireland and their leadership team, you will lead on a broad range of people matters, from organisational effectiveness and talent development to employee relations, workforce planning and transformation. You'll also work closely with colleagues across the wider HR function to deliver joined-up, impactful people solutions.

YOUR KEY AND IMPACT:
- Lead the development and delivery of the people plan for BBC Northern Ireland, ensuring alignment with divisional and BBC-wide priorities.
- Partner the Director of BBC Northern Ireland and senior leadership team, providing strategic HR advice and challenge across the full range of people matters.
- Line manage the HRBP, HR Specialist and HR Apprentice, Northern Ireland.
- Act as a trusted adviser on organisational effectiveness, workforce planning, talent, leadership, employee relations, inclusion and culture.
- Represent HR at key Northern Ireland leadership forums and governance meetings, influencing business decisions through strategic people insight.
- Lead complex organisational change and transformation programmes, ensuring successful delivery and sustainable outcomes.
- Interpret and present people data and insights to inform decision-making and identify emerging risks and opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with trade unions, employee representatives and key stakeholders across the business.
- Champion inclusion, wellbeing and employee engagement, creating an environment where colleagues can perform at their best.
- Work collaboratively with Centres of Expertise and HR colleagues across the BBC to deliver integrated people solutions.
- Keep abreast of external trends and best practice, bringing insight and innovation into the people agenda.
- Contribute to the leadership and development of the wider Nations HR community and act as an ambassador for BBC HR internally and externally.
- Deputise for the Deputy HR Director, Nations, where required and provide leadership across wider Nations priorities.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Significant senior HR generalist experience within a large, complex organisation, with a strong track record of delivering strategic people outcomes.
- Proven experience partnering senior leadership teams and influencing decision-making through trusted advice and commercial judgement.
- Strong experience leading organisational change, transformation and restructuring activity within a matrix environment.
- Strong understanding of employee relations and experience building constructive relationships with recognised trade unions and employee representatives.
- An inclusive, collaborative leadership style with a passion for developing talent and creating positive workplace cultures with direct line management experience.
DESIRABLE
- Deep expertise across a broad range of HR disciplines, with the ability to manage complex and sensitive people issues independently.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the credibility to operate effectively at senior leadership level.
- Experience developing and delivering people strategies that support organisational performance and long-term business goals.
- Ability to interpret people data and translate insight into meaningful action and business outcomes.
- Resilient, adaptable and comfortable navigating ambiguity and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commercial and financial awareness, including experience managing budgets and balancing people priorities with organisational objectives.
- Experience of Northern Ireland and the wider Nations context would be advantageous.
