Job Description

As an Event Scripter at Ubisoft Montréal, you will contribute to the creation and integration of scripted gameplay moments and animations that support the player experience. You will work closely with level design, narrative, animation, and visual effects teams to create cohesive sequences, connect various game systems, and support the implementation of interactive and cinematic events in a branching game environment.

What you will do

  • Create and maintain animation sequences for scripted gameplay moments
  • Integrate sequences, game logic, and animation systems into mission flows
  • Collaborate closely with level designers to integrate scripted events into the mission structure
  • Set up and maintain branching game events as well as narrative moments influenced by player choices
  • Integrate dialogue, visual effects, animations, and gameplay elements into scripted sequences
  • Define implementation approaches for scripted moments based on desired objectives and available technologies
  • Work directly in the Snowdrop engine to create, debug, and support scripted content
  • Support animators by providing the information necessary for sequence creation, including placement, shot breakdown, and connections between systems
  • Test and resolve issues related to sequences to ensure the proper functioning of events, assets, and systems
  • Collaborate with narrative, animation, visual effects, and mission teams to support a cohesive player experience
Qualifications

What you bring to the team

  • Effective use of visual scripting tools and node-based systems
  • Ability to build and interpret structured logic flows for scripted gameplay moments
  • Understanding of mission structures, event integration, and branching game flows
  • Experience using game engines such as Snowdrop, Unreal Engine, or similar proprietary tools
  • Ability to support technical implementation, debugging, and setup of sequences in a game engine
  • Application of a structured reasoning and problem-solving approach
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teams, including narrative, animation, visual effects, and design
  • Understanding of the basics of animation sequencers and game event implementation
