We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Student Marketing and Recruitment Officer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the UK Recruitment team’s recruitment activities, with a focus on widening participation and our student ambassador programme, within a dynamic and inclusive environment.

You will be responsible for:

• Managing the UK Recruitment team’s Student Ambassador programme, which involves the recruitment, selection, training and management of 200 plus student ambassadors who support a range of recruitment initiatives including undergraduate open days. This involves working closely with P&OD and colleagues in other teams to offer a range paid flexible working opportunities and leading on the university wide Student Ambassador Network, bringing colleagues together to share best practice and ensure continuity and consistency in approach.
• Leading on the delivery of the UK Recruitment Team’s Widening Participation Strategy in support of the targets in the University’s Access and Participation Plan. (APP). The post holder will maintain strong links with colleagues in the Access and Success team and will work closely with schools and colleges, attending off campus recruitment events and delivering tailored information advice and guidance to students from all backgrounds. This work will also involve developing relationships with targeted institutions.
• Attending recruitment events to offer advice and information to potential applicants and their key influences on the University and HE in general, and to support activities such as Open Days, Confirmation and Clearing.
• To develop, prepare and deliver high-quality information, presentations and training resources, utilising styles of teaching, learning and research at the University of Manchester, that both meet the information needs of prospective students and influencers, promoting Manchester as a study destination.
• To contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of University recruitment strategy, policies and procedures, ensuring that this is supported with appropriate data, information and analysis.

Essential Criteria:

• Significant experience and up to date knowledge of student recruitment and marketing.
• Experience of outreach and widening participation.
• Ability to meet operational requirements, with excellent planning, organisational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and explain complex issues to a range of audiences with varying levels of understanding.
• Experience of contributing to policy development and implementation.
• An ability to think in strategic terms and a willingness to exercise leadership.
• Ability to manage and develop staff, setting and achieving clear objectives and performance goals.

Desirable Criteria:

• Full clean driving license
