About the team
Utilities Network Operations operates the City of Gold Coast’s water, sewage and recycled water networks. The team protects public health, the environment and the continuity of essential services through safe, reliable and coordinated network operations.
About the role
As Coordinator Network Operations, you will provide tactical leadership for the operation of the City’s water, sewage and recycled water networks. You will lead a large, workforce through a team of Senior Leaders and turn the Branch Strategy into practical operational outcomes.
Reporting to the Manager Utilities Network Operations, you will use a shared understanding of network performance, capacity, compliance and risk to set priorities, support sound decision-making and act early on emerging issues.

- Lead and develop Senior Leaders and operational teams, establishing clear expectations, accountability and a strong safety culture.
- Coordinate the safe, reliable and compliant operation of the City’s water, sewage and recycled water networks.
- Provide operational leadership during incidents and other significant network events.
- Coordinate operational resources and input to support major projects and planned network activities.
- Improve operational practices to reduce service disruption, environmental impacts and water-quality risks.
- Manage workforce resources and operational budgets.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory, organisational and Security of Critical Infrastructure Act requirements.

The position is classified as a security-sensitive critical infrastructure position and the successful candidate will be required to undertake an SOCI ACT Background Check.
We’re looking for people who have:
- Certificate IV in Leadership and Management / Project Management and / or relevant equivalent knowledge and experience
- C Class Drivers Licence (Unrestricted) (Mandatory)
- Knowledge of water, sewage, and recycled water infrastructure systems including an understanding of operations, maintenance, renewal and refurbishment processes
- Strong leadership experience in a large or operational environment
- A demonstrated commitment to safety, both as a leader and personally
- Experience in project coordination, scheduling, budget management and continuous improvement
- Strong communication, consultation and stakeholder-management skills
- The ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
