About the Role At Trustees Executors, we protect the interests of investors by providing independent supervision and assurance across New Zealand's financial services sector. As a Client Assurance Analyst, you will play a critical role in helping us deliver on this responsibility. Working closely with the Client Assurance Manager and the wider Supervision team, you will assess the effectiveness of client control environments, identify risks, monitor remediation activities, and contribute to a robust risk-based supervision framework. You will support assurance reviews, monitoring visits, thematic reviews, and regulatory reporting while building strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

You are comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and maintaining a high standard of professionalism in a regulated environment.

**Key **

  • Conduct client assurance reviews and monitoring activities to assess the effectiveness of governance, risk, and control frameworks.
  • Identify control weaknesses and support the development and monitoring of remediation plans.
  • Prepare clear, risk-based findings reports and maintain accurate records within internal systems.
  • Support thematic reviews, regulatory reporting, and assurance reporting for leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor post-review remediation activities, track progress against agreed timelines and report to the senior management.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and collaborate across the Supervision team to deliver effective oversight.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Accounting, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years' experience in financial services, risk, compliance, audit (internal or external), assurance, supervision, or a related environment.
  • Understanding of financial services regulation, risk management, governance, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated professional scepticism, sound judgement, and a proactive approach to identifying and managing risk.
  • Experience with managed investment schemes, debt securities, non-bank deposit takers, or other regulated financial products is advantageous.
