Cornell University welcomes candidates for the position of Associate Director of Volunteer Giving to join the Annual and Leadership Giving team in our Alumni Affairs and Development division, based in Ithaca, NY. Position Summary
In close collaboration with partners across the division, the Associate Director of Volunteer Giving manages Cornell Fund volunteer fundraising efforts, including the recruitment, training, and engagement of volunteer solicitors and peer-to-peer fundraising committees. This role develops innovative strategies that strengthen volunteer-led donor engagement, increase support for the Cornell Fund and other institutional priorities, and enhance the overall volunteer experience.
**Key **
- Recruit, train, and engage volunteers for peer-to-peer fundraising, including supporting Alumni Affairs colleagues with class- and reunion based giving initiatives
- Partner with volunteer leaders to advance fundraising goals and strengthen donor engagement
- Coordinate Cornell Fund Leadership Committee activities, including volunteer recruitment, goal setting, and solicitation efforts
- Collaborate on annual messaging and marketing strategies for volunteer-led fundraising campaigns and communications
- Analyze volunteer fundraising performance, maintain data integrity, and provide reporting to inform strategy and decision-making
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years relevant experience or equivalent combination
- Experience in university annual giving programs or similar experience in a non-profit organization that emphasizes broad-based fundraising, donor acquisition, volunteer management, and stewardship experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills; attention to detail
- Commitment to AAD’s mission and to fostering alumni engagement and maximizing philanthropic support for the university
- Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and program areas
Work Location
This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Employees typically perform this role remotely 3 days per week and on-campus 2 days per week. The university reserves the right to modify, suspend, revoke or terminate the hybrid work arrangement at any time.
