We are looking for a friendly, organised and customer-focused Customer Services Assistant to join our Accommodation team. You will provide a welcoming first point of contact for students, guests, visitors, colleagues and contractors, helping to keep our busy residential receptions running smoothly.
In this role, you will respond to enquiries, support day-to-day reception duties, help with access, mail, payments and administrative tasks, and maintain accurate records. You will also work closely with colleagues to support a positive, safe and well-managed accommodation experience.
We are looking for someone with experience in a reception, clerical or customer service setting, strong communication skills, good attention to detail and the ability to stay organised in a busy environment. A commitment to excellent service and enhancing the student experience is essential.
You will be responsible for:
- To undertake reception based tasks, dealing with all customers to the service in a courteous and informative manner
- To provide support for administration activities associated with Accommodation and Administration as directed by the Customer Services Supervisor
- To input and to maintain operating/customer information using the appropriate computer software
- To work and liaise effectively and supportively with all other University colleagues and departments in the interests of contributing to a professional work environment

Essential Criteria:
- Experience of working in a clerical/reception customer service environment, ideally in a large organisation
- Good communication skills, demonstrating an ability to deal with a wide range of people
- Flexible and responsive to customer needs and able to provide information and guidance, whilst maintaining confidentiality
- Good organisational skills, and able to prioritise work in a busy environment and meet strict deadlines
- Demonstrates an ability to work in a team environment and support colleagues in the delivery of objectives
Desirable Criteria:
- Numerate with the ability to carry out financial transactions
- Computer literate with experience working with Excel, Word, and MS Outlook
