The Mechanical Pre-flight Technician is responsible for performing mechanical work as well as other complex verification and maintenance tasks on the aircraft (excluding tasks related to electrical circuits, radio, radar, and electronic systems and equipment) in order to prepare aircraft for flight or customer acceptance.

Your daily life:

• Participate in preparing the aircraft for flight or customer acceptance: install and remove safety pins for landing gear and control surfaces, cover intake ports and lines, place maintenance stands and jacks as well as ground power units and supports, fill and drain fuel, oil, water, de-icing fluid, and hydraulic fluid tanks, charge oleo-pneumatic shock struts, check and inflate tires, and lubricate the entire aircraft;
• Verify, adjust, repair, or replace complex devices and equipment such as internal storage, seats and harnesses, accessories, trim, and repair sheet metal as needed;
• Verify and maintain flight systems such as hydraulic, pneumatic, heating and ventilation, flight control, landing gear, and jet engine systems by connecting and using power test benches and devices;
• Perform maintenance, purging, charging, and verification of gas and liquid oxygen systems (after successfully completing the company's oxygen course).

Essential skills and knowledge:

• College diploma in pre-flight mechanics or military equivalent or Transport Canada equivalent;
• Experience on the CF-18 (an asset);
• Bilingualism (an asset);
• Possesses strong teamwork skills;
• Is dynamic and innovative and is stimulated by technical challenges;
• Is organized, autonomous, and possesses a developed analytical sense.

Eligibility criteria (mandatory):

• Be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;

• Be eligible to obtain and maintain a Reliability status and Secret Level II / NATO Secret security clearance from the Canadian government;

• Must be able to meet the requirements of the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
