Job Missions
- The Senior Therapeutic Area Communication and Patient Engagement Manager ensures the development and implementation of the patient engagement strategy and that of their representatives, focusing on projects aimed at improving patient care in the therapeutic areas where Biogen is present.
- They contribute to the development of strategy and the deployment of communication plans in the therapeutic areas where Biogen is present.
- They develop alliances, partnership opportunities, and advocacy in response to patient needs.
- They represent and demonstrate Biogen's commitment to patients by developing targeted partnerships and alliances with patient associations in the therapeutic areas where Biogen is present.
- They deploy Patient engagement operations to optimize the care pathway in the therapeutic areas where Biogen is present.
- They ensure that the Patient engagement of the Biogen Group and the subsidiary is at the heart of projects, understood by our employees and our external stakeholders.
Activities
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Contribute to the development of strategic recommendations and tactical plans to be implemented at the local level, including Patient engagement plans, in collaboration with the Business Units.
- Identify and develop long-term relationships of trust with patient associations to advance common interests related to Biogen's therapeutic areas.
- Act as a company representative to patient associations and create a quality network with stakeholders.
- Develop and implement projects and activities with patient associations and other related stakeholders to improve the healthcare system, raise awareness among patient groups, and support access to innovation and government affairs issues.
- Contribute, in line with the public affairs strategy, to the deployment of engagement actions with external stakeholders in our therapeutic areas.
Partnership / Alliance Development
- Act as a key representative for alliance development on behalf of Biogen.
- Identify external partners to optimize knowledge of the Patient experience in the therapeutic areas where Biogen is present.
- Establish relationships with groups focused on Biogen's pre-launch therapeutic areas of interest.
Steering and Communication
- Contribute to the development of strategy and the deployment of communication plans in the therapeutic areas where Biogen is present.
- Develop Biogen's media relations in connection with sector issues and our therapeutic areas.
- Ensure the alignment of the implementation of the patient association and stakeholder engagement strategy with the relevant internal employees (Public Affairs, Business Units, Communication, Compliance).
- Propose solutions to address issues of simplification and employee empowerment to facilitate taking initiatives and deploying collaborations with our external stakeholders.
- Act in compliance with internal ethical and compliance rules and those specific to our environment.
- Conduct regular monitoring and stay informed about the evolution of the environment and opportunities for collaborations/partnerships to consider with our stakeholders.
- Collaborate with counterparts within the Biogen group to share practices and identify potential joint projects (Europe region).
- Introduce and strengthen the Patient strategy in the annual action plans of the Business Units by proposing concrete actions for engaging Patient associations / Patients.
- Relay the Voice of the Patient to Biogen France employees to continue to raise awareness and integrate the Patient Experience into our strategy and action plans.

- Ability to develop and steer a communication strategy centered on patient expectations, consistent with therapeutic priorities, reputation issues, and company objectives.
- Ability to manage complex partnerships, including defining common objectives, monitoring commitments, measuring impact, and securing collaborations.
- Political acumen and influence skills to unite internal and external stakeholders around high-visibility projects.
- Cross-functional leadership, with the ability to mobilize teams without direct hierarchical links.
- Impact and results orientation, with the ability to define success indicators within the framework of the projects led.
- Sensitivity to reputation, public affairs, and corporate communication issues.
- Ability to work in an international environment, in connection with regional/global teams.
- Very good writing and synthesis skills.
- Very good command of social media and its use within our sector.
- Ability to develop media plans and develop relationships with the press.
- Agility and flexibility in project management.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in the field of relations with patient associations and/or external stakeholder engagement.
- Confirmed experience in institutional communication, public affairs, patient engagement, or relations with patient associations, ideally in the pharmaceutical industry or the healthcare sector.
- Experience in building and deploying multi-stakeholder communication or engagement plans.
- Good understanding of issues related to access to care, patient pathways, therapeutic innovation, and the associative environment in France.
- Good knowledge of the healthcare sector, current regulations, and the healthcare system in France.
- Project management, including cross-functional and international dimensions.
