In Germany, Amgen is represented by a research site and a commercial site. Both locations are in Munich. This vacancy concerns the commercial site (Amgen GmbH) on Riesstraße.

:

• Strategic leadership of the Value, Access & Policy department in Germany as well as integration of access and policy priorities into the corporate and portfolio strategy
• Development and implementation of strategies to ensure sustainable patient access to Amgen medicines at national, regional, and local levels
• Active shaping of the healthcare policy environment through early identification of relevant developments, definition of strategic positions, and building of trusting relationships with political decision-makers, payers, healthcare institutions, and other relevant stakeholders
• Strategic responsibility for Patient Advocacy as well as building sustainable partnerships with patient organizations to incorporate patient perspectives and unmet medical needs into strategic decisions
• Strategic management of contracting and tendering activities, regional Value & Access activities, and Key Account Management, taking into account patient access, customer requirements, and sustainable portfolio value
• Close cross-functional collaboration with Commercial, Medical, Finance, Regulatory, Legal, and other areas to develop integrated strategies for patient access and portfolio development
• Building, leading, and further developing a high-performing Value, Access & Policy organization as well as fostering talent and leaders
• Representation of Amgen Germany to high-ranking external stakeholders as well as in regional and global Amgen committees and active participation in shaping the strategy and transformation of Amgen Germany as a member of the Management Team

REQUIREMENTS:

• Completed university degree in natural sciences or business administration
• Ideally at least 10 years of relevant professional experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry with comprehensive experience in Value & Access, Market Access, Health Policy, or comparable functions
• Sound knowledge of the German healthcare system, particularly reimbursement and access pathways, payer structures, healthcare policy frameworks, and regional decision-making processes is desirable
• Proven experience in developing and implementing successful strategies to ensure patient access to innovative medicines is an advantage
• Extensive experience in collaborating with and influencing high-ranking external stakeholders, including political decision-makers, payers, healthcare institutions, customer and patient organizations is a plus
• Ideally experience with strategic contracting models, tenders, and complex customer negotiations as well as strong strategic and entrepreneurial thinking
• Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams and leaders as well as the ability to integrate patient, healthcare system, and business perspectives into strategic decisions is an advantage
• Experience in successful collaboration and influencing across functions in a complex international matrix organization as well as excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills at the executive level is desirable
• German and English language skills at least at C1 level, both written and spoken
