This role will require a presence of at least 3-4 days a week on our Leeds campus, with 1 day working from home to suit the student timetable. You maybe required to be on campus 5 days a week in some cases, based on teaching and meeting requirements. Our hybrid working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit which could changes at any point during your employment, so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.

About the Opportunity:

We are currently looking for a Senior Lecturer to join the School of Foundation Year - Business to support the huge growth of our Foundation Year Business programmes.

• Responsibility for a programme or suite of associated named awards/programmes

• May support with leadership of several large, core modules

• Line management of Lecturers (who may themselves lead modules) / Associate Lecturers

• Teaching duties (and associated activities) normally up to 8-12 hours per week as agreed with the relevant Head of Department/Director

• Act as a Personal Academic Coach (PAC), supporting students' engagement, progression and academic success.

About You:

We welcome applications from candidates with experience in any of the following subject areas:

• Health and Care Management

• International Hospitality and Tourism Management

You will have experience of supporting and managing academic teams/module leaders and have an outstanding ability to engage with students and staff resulting in a positive teaching and learning environment. We are seeking someone who is friendly, approachable, adaptable, flexible, calm under pressure, driven and persistent.

This is a fast-paced environment in an organisation that is growing rapidly so being able to manage ambiguity and change is essential.

Essential Skills / Experience:

• Master’s Degree or equivalent professional qualification in subject relevant to the teaching area.

• Recognised HE Teaching Qualification and /or Advance HE Fellowship at FHEA/SFHEA level or demonstrate commitment to gain this recognition within 12 months of appointment

• Able to evidence CPD to show your commitment to enhancing your knowledge and teaching capability, including your practical teaching methods and techniques.

• Significant and successful track record of teaching, learning and assessment practice in a relevant discipline /subject at different HE levels Line management or mentoring/coaching of others
