Job Description

Role Mission

The Injection Process Specialist is responsible for the entire plastic injection process at the factory, including process development and , definition and optimization of cycle times, and the implementation of documentation and controls for both new and existing products.

Additional include training and mentoring the team to ensure that process performance, scrap, and standardization goals are met, while promoting positive relationships with employees and peers to build a strong culture of Safety, Continuous Improvement, and Diversity.

**Duties and **

• Develop, validate, document, and optimize plastic injection processes.
• Define critical parameters, process windows, and cycle times.
• Conduct try-outs, pilot runs, and industrial validations.
• Lead continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and SMED projects.
• Act as the plant's technical lead on matters related to plastics and the issuance/maintenance of AFT.
• Evaluate raw materials, resins, and molding issues.
• Participate in the specification, qualification, and improvement of molds, injection machines, and peripherals.
• Prepare and maintain PFMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, parameter sheets, and process documentation.
• Apply SPC, capability analysis (Cp/Cpk), MASP, 8D, and PDCA.
• Monitor indicators for OEE, scrap, setup, efficiency, and raw material consumption.
• Conduct technical training and development for the operational team.
• Prepare technical and economic feasibility studies (payback). Issue and maintain AFT.

Qualifications & Competencies (Academic Background, Specific Skills, and Experience)

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics Engineering, or related fields.
• Active and regular registration with the Regional Chemistry Council (CRQ) of the 13th Region - Santa Catarina, with qualifications compatible for acting as a Technical Lead, where applicable.
• Desirable training: Plastics Technician, Cartesian robot programming, Injection Molding Machine programming, SMED methodology, Reading and interpretation of technical drawings, Continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing; Project development (APQP).

Experience:

• Professional experience in plastic injection and mold/tool maintenance;
• Experience in preparing production process documentation (work instructions, process flowcharts, FMEA, and control plans);
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing and production process automation;
• Experience with layout and process flows;
• Knowledge of BOM (Bill of Materials);
• Advanced English (a plus);
• Active registration with the CRQ (Regional Chemistry Council);
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar software;
• Project Management/MS Project;
• Proficiency in process and product development tools: PPAP, APQP, FMEA, PFMEA;
• Proficiency in root cause analysis tools: MASP / 8D.
