The University of Washington Autism Center (UWAC) has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time, temporary Speech and Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow to join our team.
About this Opportunity
Reporting to the Clinical Director and supervised by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, the Speech and Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow provides speech-language evaluation, intervention, consultation, and related clinical services to children and individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). This position supports the UW Autism Center's mission of delivering high-quality, evidence-based clinical services while completing the Clinical Fellowship experience required for professional certification and licensure.
The position supports both clinics in Seattle & Tacoma, but is primarily in Seattle. A willingness to travel to Tacoma as needed is required.
**Key **
Direct Clinical Services (90%):
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication evaluations using standardized and non-standardized assessment tools.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and provide ongoing speech-language intervention services.
- Deliver services in both individual and group treatment settings.
- Collaborate with team members to support assessment, treatment planning, and service delivery.
- Provide consultation, education, and support to families, educators, community providers, and UWAC staff to promote continuity of care.
- Prepare timely and accurate evaluation reports, treatment plans, progress notes, referral letters, and other required clinical documentation.
- Maintain clinical records in accordance with professional, organizational, and regulatory standards.
Administrative and Program Support (10%):
- Coordinate with billing and administrative staff regarding clinical services provided.
- Work closely with the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist to fulfill Clinical Fellowship requirements.
- Track and report service-related documentation, statistics, and billing information.
- Support clinic operations and workload expectations across Seattle and Tacoma locations.
Required Qualifications

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements, such as licensure, certification, and/or registration requirements.
Minimum Qualifications

- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Successful completion of the Praxis Examination.
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families.
- Experience or interest in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
- Experience or interest in facilitating social skills groups.
- Experience administering and scoring ADOS-2 (Modules 1-4).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within healthcare teams.
Working Conditions
- Position requires regular travel between UWAC Seattle and Tacoma clinic locations.
- Ability to work with individuals exhibiting a wide range of communication abilities, behavioral presentations, and support needs.
- Ability to manage sensitive and complex interactions with patients, families, and community partners.

$48,000.00 annual
