Job Description:

In a fast moving and increasingly complex world, L3Harris is anticipating and rapidly responding to challenges with agile technology – creating a safer and more secure future. L3Harris is seeking a dynamic Software Engineer who is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining space command and control (C2) systems software. The Software Engineer will work with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and assess software interfaces, operational performance requirements, and overall system design. The ideal candidate should have experience with the full software development lifecycle. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO.

Essential Functions:

  • Participating in all phases of the software development life cycle, creating software test procedures, developing software programs, preparing related documentation, conducting peer reviews, identifying, tracking, and resolving software defects
  • Clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas
  • Collaborate effectively with small teams of software engineers
  • Develop software as a Java full stack engineer

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

  • Ability to obtain a Security+ Certification in less than 60 days

  • Ability to obtain a US Secret security clearance

  • At least 2 years of experience in software development with a focus on Java full stack development

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledgeable in the full software development lifecycle from requirements elicitation to deployment
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Strong organization of open software tasks
  • Understanding of software engineering principles and industry best practices, including Agile development
  • Ability to work in a team environment to potentially include duties in other technical disciplines
  • Experience with Apache NiFi
  • Experience with RabbitMQ message broker
  • Experience with relational databases
  • Knowledge of asynchronous programming
  • Familiarity with source code repositories (e.g., GitLab)
  • Experience with agile development tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
  • Understanding of and developing/deploying in containerized environments
  • Knowledge of Tanzu and Docker

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state is $74,500-$138,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
