Senior Automation QA Engineer (Permanent)
Location and basis
Permanent, full-time role.
Fully flexible working: home, office, or a mix, your call. We just ask that you're based within one of these areas:
- Bulgaria: within 50 miles of Sofia
Applications from outside these areas won't be considered.
The role
You'll join a high-volume online marketplace part-way through a major, multi-year technology transformation. There's a live migration from GCP to AWS and a full version 2 build underway.
You'll embed directly into one of our product squads as its quality engineer, working alongside a tech lead, a principal engineer, three full-stack engineers and a platform engineer. You'll be the quality lead for that squad, owning test coverage, automation and validation standards for the features it ships.
Day to day, you'll write and maintain automated tests, shape the squad's test approach, and hold quality high while the platform changes underneath you.
You'll be a core member of an established squad, helping shape how we test as the platform grows.
The platform
This is a genuinely large-scale marketplace. Very few platforms handle a product catalogue or transaction volume at this level.
The roadmap includes agentic AI workflows built into the platform, retail media integrated directly into the marketplace, and infrastructure work targeting cost and performance at high volume.
A lot of this is being attempted at volumes that have rarely been tested in a marketplace before, so the work leans research-led rather than routine.
Who this suits
This is a fast-paced scale-up environment on a complex platform.
You'll do well here if you're comfortable with ambiguity and shifting ground.
