This is an exciting opportunity to make your mark in a company that is setting the pace for digital publishing. In the role of Digital Communications Assistant, you’ll collaborate with a talented team of marketers and publicists to make sure every book we publish reaches a targeted audience of engaged readers. We’re looking not only for great commercial talent, but people who make a habit of improving the way things are done, who embrace change and who enjoy applying data to creativity.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist in growing our organic social media presence, proactively bringing content and creator collaboration ideas.
  • Design in-house assets and work with an external agency to create promotional graphics to support our books on social media. Support in the scheduling of social media content.
  • Support the management of multi-channel paid media campaigns to promote our books and authors, including across Meta, TikTok, Google and Amazon.
  • Support the marketing and publicity teams with promotional material for our German, Italian and French publishing.
  • Assist on lead generation campaigns to build email subscriber base.
  • Assist on outreach campaigns to increase our reviewer database.
  • Report on marketing and publicity campaigns using social media analytics and Google Analytics.
  • Create content, build, schedule and report on marketing emails.
  • Manage library and reviewer requests on NetGalley.
  • Manage content and help to promote Amazon Storefront.
  • Assist with departmental admin and work on individual projects and tasks as needed

Who we are looking for

We’re looking for an enthusiastic candidate who combines creativity with analysis and innovation. You should have a proven passion for digital communications and the mindset to constantly improve the way we connect our books with readers.

  • You will have an understanding of and a keen interest in organic and paid social media campaigns and how they are used to professionally promote content.
  • You will have a good eye for design – experience with Photoshop and Canva is preferred but not essential.
  • You will have a commercial awareness and an interest in the different channels that make a book sell.
  • You will have a strong analytical mindset and experience of using data visualisation systems for reporting.
  • You will have a basic understanding of CMS and SEO – knowledge of Wordpress an advantage.
  • You will be highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritise a varied workload on tight deadlines.
  • You will have a growth mindset and keen interest in innovation.

The role will be based at our London or Sheffield office, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
