Project Controls Director (Suspension Bridge Project)
Harnessing over 70 years of expertise, Parsons is dedicated to overcoming the toughest challenges to support our customers in safely navigating any obstacle. We design and build bridges that enrich skylines and ensure efficient transportation.
Parsons is proud to be the PMC selected to assist our Client in managing the entire project delivery. Our scope is to oversee all activities of the design-build contractor and act as the Client’s representative for all contractors and stakeholders, providing assistance on all matters related to the design and construction of this iconic project.
Job Description
We are looking for a Project Controls Director to handle all functions related to their departments. We are seeking ambitious individuals with unparalleled subject matter expertise and prior experience on numerous infrastructure projects and with various clients.
Key
- Provides guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of complex and difficult project control problems.
- Interfaces with clients, attends regular meetings, and provides strategic recommendations on critical issues to support the decision-making process.
- Leads the definition of the program's master coding architecture, integrating all functional requirements and the development of a robust, timely, and accurate reporting system for the entire program.
- Leads the development and implementation of project control procedures to support the implementation of best practices, primarily for schedule, cost, earned value, risk, and change management processes.
- Manages a team of qualified project control specialists to analyze, evaluate, and forecast project costs, as well as performance against an established schedule with critical milestones. Assesses the impact of design and construction changes and schedule slippages.
- Recommends and oversees the implementation and customization of project control systems to meet specific project requirements.
- Coordinates staffing needs, assigns and supervises project work activities, and trains personnel.
- Conducts performance evaluations and provides development goals and opportunities for assigned employees.
- Performs other associated with this position as appropriate.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 20+ years of overall industry experience, including 10+ years on a project of similar scale.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Proven excellent stakeholder management skills at the C-suite level.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to make informed decisions based on data and analysis.
- PMO/PMC experience is required.
- Basic knowledge of civil and infrastructure engineering.
- Effective oral and written skills for client presentations, technical reports, and internal/external correspondence; ability to effectively present information to key stakeholders.
- Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Project Controls software and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of construction management professionals.
- Ability to interact at all levels with the project team, the client, and other parties.
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of problems related to support functions.
- Fluent in Italian and English.

Required Skills

- PMO/PMC experience is required.
- Requires basic engineering knowledge in civil and infrastructure.
