The Assistant Director of Instructional Operations manages, guides, trains, and supports the Instructional Design (ID) team, and works directly with both the ID team and CODL's leadership, collaborating across all units in the Center. Given the size of the Instructional Design team, this role and the Instructional Design Supervisor co-lead the team jointly each directly supervising a portion of ID staff while maintaining one shared set of standards and expectations across the full team.

Beyond the formal supervisory lines, the Assistant Director works with the Director of Academic Partnerships across all Development Teams, regardless of functional reporting lines.

The Assistant Director will lead instructional design special projects and provide direct, hands-on instructional design support when CODL's course development teams are short-staffed.

The Assistant Director will build and maintain collaborative working relationships with the schools and colleges of Syracuse University to support the development of online programs.

This position requires regular on-campus presence and occasional schedule flexibility, including evenings and weekends based on student and operational needs.
