The Care Manager works closely with the Clinical Director and Asst. Clinical Director with providing ongoing mental health services to students, and supporting Counseling and Consultation Service's staff through planning, implementing, and coordinating resources based on individual student and staff needs. The goal of this position is to promote continuity of care through coordinating, collaborating and advocating based on students’ mental health needs. The Care Manager coordinates care with students needing services from community providers; assists CCS staff with the hospitalization process, discharge planning, follow-ups, and coordination of other services; establishes, maintains and coordinates relationships with OSU services such as the Wexner Medical Center and other campus organizations that would assist with the students’ mental health needs; consults with other staff to discuss resources; consults with students to determine their needs and best course of treatment; provides transitional support to referring therapist and clients in need of referral to community services; maintains community referral resources; acts as liaison and coordinates between CCS and community referral sources, including hospitals, private practitioners, clinics, psychiatry, and other mental health agencies while maintaining a database of community referral resources. Trains and supervises graduate students in psychology, social work, counselor education, or related fields; may research student needs and develop and evaluate programs; participates in professional development and continuing education activities and consults with university personnel.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Public Health, Allied Health or other clinically related field. Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Independent Social Worker, or Licensed Independent Social Worker - Supervisor. 1 year of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
DESIRED: Doctoral Degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or related field; or Masters Degree in Counselor Education, Social Work, Counseling or related field. Licensure in the State of Ohio in professional discipline within 18 months of hire. Considerable clinical casework experience in therapy. Supervised internship or work equivalent experience in university counseling center, mental health agency, or related professional setting.
