Washington Athletics has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Director of Marketing & Fan Engagement to join their team.
About this Opportunity
The Assistant Director of Marketing & Fan Engagement reports directly to the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing & Fan Engagement. This position will leverage live event presentation expertise and traditional promotional marketing experience for assigned sports and ancillary projects, with goals set to create premier in-venue environments, increase event attendance, enhance brand expansion, and contribute to revenue-generating efforts for University of Washington athletic programs.
**Key **
Sport Marketing Oversight (75%):
- Lead Marketing promotional planning for Gymnastics and Softball.
- Provide oversight of all event presentation efforts for Gymnastics and Softball.
- Serve as secondary contact and lead on-field stage manager for Football.
Brand Expansion and Outreach (20%):
- Lead all planning, organization, and growth of Dubs Club – the official kids club of Husky Athletics.
- Assist in the execution of community events by staffing assigned events, as scheduled by the Associate Director of Marketing & Fan Engagement.
Other duties as assigned (5%).
Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field. A minimum of two years of combined professional experience in marketing, live event production, or community outreach.
Additional Qualifications
- Have an ever-evolving understanding of the industry and a creative mindset towards promotional marketing, theme night activations, and engaging event presentation environments.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Highly motivated, creative, self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong leader and mentor, especially to college students.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Shoflo, Tagboard, and Sound Director is preferred.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule; evenings and weekends are required.
- Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details
Pay Range Minimum:
$77,400.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum:
$80,172.00 annual
Other Compensation:
- Taxable benefits include tickets to UW Intercollegiate home competitions.
- Non-local candidates may be eligible for a moving allowance.
