As a member of the Automation – Bio Launch Unit team in the Drug Substance area, you will be part of the engineering team and support the execution of automation projects for clinical drug substance manufacturing. You will work closely with the Production, Quality, and Engineering departments and contribute significantly to the further development of the automation infrastructure. The team is responsible for both the procurement and integration of new equipment (Package Units) and the continuous development of the existing distributed control system (ABB 800xA).

Key :

  • Procurement of new equipment (Package Units) with a focus on control technology:

Creation and review of User Requirement Specifications (URS), evaluation of supplier offers, support of FAT/SAT, and integration into the existing automation infrastructure.

  • Adaptation projects in the existing ABB 800xA distributed control system:

Planning, implementation, and qualification of changes in the DCS, including change management in accordance with GMP requirements.

  • Project responsibility:

Responsibility for timelines, budget, and technical implementation of assigned projects, fulfilling this responsibility proactively.

  • Interface management:

Close cooperation with Production, Quality, HSE, as well as external suppliers and system integrators.

  • Ensuring GMP compliance for all automation measures, including the creation and maintenance of relevant qualification documentation (DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ).

About you

Experience:

  • Several years of professional experience in automation technology, ideally in the pharmaceutical or industry

  • Sound knowledge of distributed control systems, especially ABB 800xA is an advantage

  • Experience in the procurement and integration of Package Units (control technology)

  • Knowledge of the GMP environment (qualification, validation, change control)

  • Project experience in the planning and implementation of automation projects

Soft skills / Technical skills:

  • Team spirit and strong communication skills

  • Self-organization and a structured, independent way of working

  • Coordination of project teams and technical guidance of service providers

  • Collaboration with colleagues from Production, Manufacturing Management, and Quality

  • Confident handling of network infrastructures and communication protocols in an industrial environment (e.g., PROFIBUS, PROFINET, Modbus)

  • Knowledge in creating technical specifications (URS, FS, DS)

  • Experience with qualification documentation according to GAMP 5

Education:

  • Engineer or highly qualified technician with several years of professional experience in electrical engineering, automation technology, process engineering, or related fields with a focus on automation, process control technology, or information technology

Languages:

  • German and English, both written and spoken

The salary range for this position is :€79.104,00 - €105.472

Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
