The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) develops long-lasting relationships with healthcare professionals, leaders in their fields, and institutions, creating constructive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. They provide field medical expertise that is aligned and integrated with the overall medical strategy for the MSL within the Business Unit (BU). They engage key customers and external stakeholders (in individual or group settings) with high-quality, accurate, fair, and balanced scientific discussions for the therapeutic area. They contribute to local evidence generation activities by supporting clinical investigators with company-sponsored trials and support the development of Real-World Evidence based on local needs. They collaborate with internal stakeholders, maintaining full compliance with company, industry, legal, and regulatory requirements. They generate insights from interactions with external stakeholders, proactively identify unmet needs, and provide feedback to the organization.

  • Be the trusted scientific partner for influential external experts and decision-makers, conducting timely, appropriate, and frequent scientific exchanges to enhance the understanding of the scientific and medical value of our products.

  • Develop robust stakeholder engagement plans to collect data, develop, and share medical insights that contribute to the enhancement of key medical messages, plans, and future research at Sanofi.

  • Exhibit a high degree of scientific and clinical knowledge in the therapeutic area to help identify and critically evaluate research opportunities and play a supporting role in the execution of evidence generation plans to highlight the value of our products in a real-world context.

  • Utilize innovative approaches to increase opportunities and create strategies that reveal insights that deepen our understanding of the needs of patients, consumers, regulators, payers, and healthcare providers, and proactively identify unmet needs.

  • Be the strategic partner to drive collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders (Medical Affairs, Commercial Operations), maintaining full compliance with relevant company, industry, legal, and regulatory requirements.

  • Demonstrate operational understanding and risk management by ensuring excellence in the execution of all governance processes.

  • Assist in training MSLs on engagement and communication with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and in the development of tactical plans.

  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with the principles of Ethics and Integrity, Sanofi policies, and codes of conduct that regulate the pharmaceutical market.

  • Comply with and promote Sanofi's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, with the goal of preventing accidents, avoiding health risks, promoting employee well-being, and reducing environmental impacts resulting from the execution of work activities.

About You

  • Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus.

  • Clear understanding of medical practice, clinical decision-making, and healthcare systems related to patient care.

  • Ability to interpret key scientific data and translate this information to meet educational and research needs.

  • Ability to meet educational and research needs through the delivery of cutting-edge scientific data/evidence.

  • Understand the design and execution of research studies.

  • Exemplary communication and presentation skills.

  • Experience working with teams and managing a significant volume of projects.

  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse groups such as KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders), payers, healthcare professionals (HCPs), patient groups, medical societies, and policy groups.

  • Familiarity with the use of HCP mapping systems and digital engagement platforms.

  • Ability to guide and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.

  • Technical and personal competencies: familiarity with inflammation-mediated (immune-mediated) pathologies affecting the upper airways and esophagus is preferred, and an advanced degree (MD, MSc, or PhD) is a plus.

  • Analytical and problem-solving ability

  • Proficiency in data analysis and presentation tools

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Ability to think strategically and translate strategy into actionable plans

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Academic background: Degree in a Health-related field.
