What we offer Work in an international, agile team building autonomous  robotic  systems Contribute to software that  is  tested on real robotic platforms and in the field Gain hands-on experience  with state-of-the-art technologies in robotics , autonomy , and multi-agent systems Work closely with experienced robotics and embedded engineers Take ownership of meaningful  technical  projects  while  receiving guidance from the team Benefit  from a steep  learning  curve and a collaborative engineering culture Your mission Join our robotics team working on autonomous systems that operate as coordinated, distributed agents in real-world environments.  As a Software Engineering Intern, you will contribute to the development and validation of our multi-UAV system, with a particular focus on software tooling, simulation, and system observability.  Depending on your background and the project, you may also contribute to areas such as SLAM, navigation, perception, planning, or multi-agent coordination. This is a hands-on internship where you will develop and test software, work with real robotic systems, and see how your work performs beyond simulation.  Develop data- driven  dashboards and tools to monitor, analyze , and visualize system performance Extend  our simulation framework  with KPIs, automated scenarios, and evaluation workflows Analyze simulation and field -test data to identify issues and opportunities for improvement Contribute to the core  robotics stack in areas such as estimation, perception, planning, control, or mission execution Collaborate closely with robotics , simulation, embedded , and domain experts Gain practical experience developing and validating software for complex  autonomous  systems Your profile Currently  pursuing or recently  completed a Master's  degree in Robotics , Computer Science, Autonomous  Systems , Electrical Engineering, or a related  field Good programming  skills in C++, ideally modern C++ (17/20) Solid foundation in algorithms , data structures, and software engineering Basic understanding of robotics concepts such as coordinate frames, sensor data, estimation, planning, or control Comfortable  working in Linux Curious about complex  robotic systems and motivated to understand how things  work  beyond  your  individual component Able to work  independently on a defined  technical  problem  while  actively  seeking feedback when  needed Genuine interest in autonomous  systems , robotics , and defense  technology Nice to have You do not need to bring all of these — experience from university projects, research, student teams, personal projects, or previous internships counts.  Experience  with ROS or ROS 2 Experience  with real robots, embedded  systems , or hardware-in-the- loop setups Exposure to SLAM, navigation, computer vision, estimation, filtering , planning, or control Interest or experience in multi-agent systems , swarming , or distributed  robotics Experience  working  with  LiDAR or camera data Exposure to PX4 or ArduPilot Experience  with simulation frameworks  such as Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or Unreal Engine Experience  with  embedded platforms, GPUs , or networking Exposure to machine learning  methods What else Strong problem-solving  mindset and willingness to learn Structured and reliable way of working Comfortable  working in an environment  where not every  problem has a predefined solution Collaborative and open to technical feedback High ethical standards and disciplined  work ethic Extra- curricular engineering projects , robotics  competitions , research , or other  technical  achievements are a plus The practical part  Duration: 3–6 months , full-time Eligibility : NATO- aligned  nationality or close ally  citizenship  is  required Find more English Speaking Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow [Skills: Robotics, UAV systems, SLAM, Navigation, perception, multi agent coordination, Linux, C++, ROS2, Software engineering, algorithm]
