Develop and execute a facilities and reliability strategy aligned with company growth, including space planning and workplace design
Manage budgets, capital expenditures, and cost optimization initiatives across facilities
Lead office expansions, renovations, and build-outs in partnership with internal stakeholders and external vendors, ensuring spaces are truly operationally ready — not just construction-complete
Establish preventive maintenance discipline, escalation routines, and vendor follow-up so facility risks are surfaced early and driven to closure
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards (OSHA, NFPA, electrical/life-safety, permitting)
Partner cross-functionally with IT, People Ops, Safety, Real Estate/Construction, and leadership to enhance the employee workplace experience
What will I need to thrive in this role? Significant leadership experience in facilities management, maintenance/reliability, workplace operations, or a related field
Proven experience managing small and large office or site environments, preferably in a high-growth or tech company
Proven experience leading the launch of new office spaces or facilities, including site selection support, design, construction coordination, and operational readiness
Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and vendor management
Demonstrated ability to evaluate, redesign, and optimize existing facilities to meet evolving business needs, improve employee experience, and drive cost and space efficiency
Experience managing leases, budgets, contracts, and capital projects
Ability to identify technical, safety, and compliance risk, know when to bring in outside experts, and drive issues to closure
High EQ and excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
Strong problem-solving mindset with a proactive, data-driven approach to decision making
Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support site readiness and vendor coordination
What does high performance look like? Facilities operations run smoothly with minimal disruptions and high employee satisfaction
Projects (build-outs, expansions, upgrades) are delivered on time and within budget, with clean handoff and no late surprises
Strong vendor relationships and preventive maintenance discipline that drive quality service and cost efficiency
Continuous improvement in workplace experience, safety, and operational efficiency
Proactive identification and resolution of facility risks or inefficiencies, with the right issues escalated to leadership and the rest resolved independently
What will make me stand out during the interview process? Experience in Amazon RME, fulfillment, sort center, AMZL, Sub Same Day, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, robotics, parcel, ecommerce, or other high-throughput operating environments
Experience with conveyors, sorters, MHE, dock equipment, building systems, fire/life-safety coordination, electrical safety, controls, WCS/WES interfaces, or automated material handling environments
Experience developing PM programs, scorecards, inspection routines, vendor standards, critical-spares processes, and maintenance operating mechanisms
Experience with greenfield launches, brownfield retrofits, tenant improvements, startup readiness, or network expansion
Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, electrical safety, insurance review, permitting, facility inspections, and industrial safety practices
Military, engineering, technical operations, or field leadership background
